Laurie check a little more. It was broadcast in my area MOnday night the 26th. Of course I didn't get to see it. But like most things, public TV likes to broadcast things more than once, so hopefully we can catch it the next time!

You picked a good one Amy!! Whew. Finally, I can now they did Shattered in concert. I was prohibited from mentioning anything about the set list till Sammy's concert dates. I've been dying to mention just one song!!

The first one I thought of reading this was instantly Layla. I love that intro and always will. That intro was used going into the news on the local radio station that's been on the air 30+ years around here, KSHE. I've heard that for the entire 30 years!! There are so many others, but I wouldn't be me if I didn't say my all time biggie is,of course, Satisfaction, by the Stones. Just that Da Da, Da Da Da, Da Da Da, and I'm done, stopped in my tracks every time!

Sad. Get Smart was one of the better shows in my memory. I have that and the Monkees all tangled up. They must have been on at the same time. I've always heard that Don Adams was brilliant, and never really got the credit he deserved.

Beer-Butt chicken - We consider this fine dining where I'm from!!! Best redneck eatin you'll find. No sauce, 3/4 can of beer, a good poultry rub, or just salt, pepper and garlic. It's worth trying, believe me!! (Besides it gives you guys an excuse to buy more beer)

Bazooka's got it right there. Rap and Punk don't have what it takes. Grunge didn't either. So what's next to come? I'm open to anything,but, we're still waiting.......

Like Bazooka I'm puzzled with most of the questions. I'll guess Sesame Street though. They always had a lot of musical guests, but they are not strictly 80's. Now I have confused myself. Peewee's playhouse does seem to fit better!

Elvy!! Where have you been doll? I haven't seen you around. Last weekend Wille played here at a fundraiser event, at sheldon hall, a small auditorium. 20 bucks. I would have like to go. I think your pick collection is cool!

Los Lonely Boys were absolutely amazing opening for the Stones. I'm gald someone else hears the blues in thier music. I didn't know them before. I do now.

What they ^^^^^ said. :guitar: I just saw the Stones in concert. Am I ready for something else? No!!! I've seen them before, and they were every bit as good this time. Of course i am getting older as are they. Maybe that's why. And my musical tastes have changed over the years expanding to encompass different genres, but these can mostly be called "Roots of Rock" types of music. I actually think I have better taste in music now, since I have learned a few things, than I did way back when. So no, I'm not ready to move on, just move some things over to make room for more!

I ve got to say, while I admire Jones, I'm with edna and Katie. I think he gets all the credit for the early stuff. He showed the guys what is possible both musically and lyrically. I do however think that Mick and Keith are the ones to get the credit for thier longevity. They learned, picked up the songwriting, and carried it well. Part of it though is just business sense, which Jones has not been around for. Music is an industry after all, and they are at the top of the game.

Sweet child...you have excellent taste. Bazooka, and S2V, I knew there was something I liked about you guys. Finally, someone else recognizes the often overlooked Angel. I always try to bring this song up. You are exactly right, both of you. The song could not fit Jimi's voice better, and shows the softer, more introspective side of his talent. Angel has a special meaning for me, but it would still be one of my favorite Hendrix songs, and one that I don't think anyone could cover well. I think I shall have to listen to Jimi tonight.

edna I was in jail once too. Many years ago. It was awful. I was already a mom! I didn't even do anything! (In my opinion!)

Ok, Kids. I guess while I can I'd better give my personal review of the Stones concert. Such a chore, but somebodies gotta do it It was without a doubt, phenomenal. Start to finish, the whole concert. Even the opening acts, maybe because of the opening acts, cause it was 4 hours of just really good music. There weren't a lot of late comers, and people sat pretty quick instead of the usual milling about, when they heard the music. The first opener was Akyroyd and Belushi. I'm more of a fan of straight up blues than the Blues Brothers are. This was different, more of a straight up style. The only blues brothers song I recognized was Sweet Home Chicago, which they did as a tribute to John B. If you can imagine 50,000 people singing along to Sweet Home Chicago, people already revved up, well...definately an expeience. I'll give 9/10 just cause they could've played longer. Next we had Los Lonely Boys, as I mentioned. Now I had heard of these guys, but never heard anything from them. They were great. They had a very latin sound thus the Santana reference, but most songs had a hard, bluesy feel. If I could download right now, I'd definately get some of thier stuff. I'll give them an 8/10, cause I need to hear more of them. But they are worth it!!! They rocked the house!! Now, to the main event. Phenomenal is the only word that works. We had great seats, directly in front of the stage, first level off the field, first row, seats 9 and 10.(that's like ingrained in my memory). People can say what they will, But I saw them in the 70's, the 80's, the 90's and now this show, and they are still the same, but different. Say what you will, but they do grow. I'm bound by a promise to Sammy not to reveal the set list, but there was a surprise cover of an R&B song that was so fresh, so new, and worked so well for them. The guys were the guys. This is soldier field now. The stage took up the entire width, and more of the height of the end of the stadium. Mick never stopped moving. That man was back and forth scross the width, and out the catwalk into the audience during the entire show. Of course they had the moving stsge, thatbrought all 4 out into the audience, I'd say 3/4 of the way out across the field. Lisa sounded amazing, as usual, and Keith was, well my same old Keith, which is a good thing. Sat next to this cute 23 year old girl and her boyfriend. We talked and she told me how the Stones were her favorite band, and that pleased me. She asked did I mind her dancing? After I smiled and said no,She was amazed to find out she was dancing with a grandma. I can truthfully say I did not sit the entire time the Stones played, which was from about 8:30, to 11:00. My old bones are still creaking today, but man I had fun! You gotta know, I give these guys, and the whole show a 20/10! STONES RULE!!! :guitar: :guitar:

Laurie it was amazing. You can be jealous. I'll tell all when I get home. Trying real hard not to wake my daughter. Have you heard of Los Lonely Boys? They're kinds new. They were great as an opening act. Kind of a cross between A bluesy Santana, and some heavy rock thrown in. Stones Rule! Wish we had a tongue smilie!!

Love this song. We saw George in concert, and that slide you like so much? Whatever the thing is he uses to play it (is it called a slide), George threw into the audience(not audience,me!), but some 18 year old stuck his hand in front of me and grabbed it. I got ripped off. Even George said so, we met him. We were second row center, maybe 6 ft from him, and he likes to shake hands with the aiudience.

First as Maynard G Krebs, probably one of the first tv personalities I remember, and Gilligan, beloved by so many. Some may even miss Bob Denver, the man.

Sammy, I'm well over 400 just on my 2 tickets(I did get good seats though!) But if I can score some for here this winter, guess what? I will. They are almost sold out now, but you never know.... STONES RULE!!! I'm going to be idiot about this all week!
