  3. Jack-FM just took over 96.3 here in the Nashville area. The best classic rock station around is 105.9 with Johnboy and Billy in the morning and Proud Mary in the afternoon.96.3 has always been the "oldies" station here.I liked it at first and then I came to hate it.I hated it because they played the same songs everyday over and over.A lot of great oldies never got played.I was bombarded with the Aretha Franklin song "RESPECT" at least 3 or more times each day.I began to hate the DJ Coyote McCloud as well. Now he's on 97.1 and I sure as hell ain't going there. So I figure maybe JACK is a good thing
  4. I don't think anyone's technique (other than Hendrix) compares to the technique of Jeff Beck. The man is a Stratmaster,a guitar wizard. My favorite living guitarist.

I've Found Someone Of My Own by Free Movement I got up this morning While I was having my coffee My woman came in Sat down by my side With tears in her eyes She said, :I have a confession to make" And I said, ?Woman, Speak what?s on your mind? She said, ?I found somebody new To take your place? I said, ?Don?t feel so all alone I found someone of my own? On those lonely nights You left me all alone Oh my new love would call And comfort me on the phone And I said, ?Woman If that?s the way it?s gotta be, Then darlin? Don?t you worry ?bout me? She said, ?I found somebody new To take your place? I said, ?Don?t feel so all alone I found someone of my own? I got up form the table I reached down and wiped the tears from her face I put out my cigarette Turned and walked away She said, ?I found somebody new To take your place? I said, ?Don?t feel so all alone I found someone of my own?
  10. NEKTAR Remember the Future 1974 OFFICIAL NEKTAR WEBSITE Remember the Future? was recorded in 1973 and became one of the best-selling albums in Germany the same year. In 1974 the record received the accolade of ?Album of the Year? in Germany, and broke the band in America, where the album attained a Top Twenty position on the Billboard chart. NEKTAR biography NEKTAR is probably the most German-like of the Seventies British bands, a fame that owes a lot to the town in which this band was founded (Hamburg) and to their stylistic approach (Assimilated to Krautrock). NEKTAR was formed in 1969 by Allan FREEMAN (keyboards & vocals), Roye ALBRIGHTON (guitars & vocals), Derek MOORE (bass, Mellotron & vocals) and Ron HOWDEN (drums). 17. Dennis McCrohan a.k.a. Dennis Edmonton a.k.a. Mars Bonfire BORN Dennis McCrohan - Apr. 21, 1943 - Oshawa, ON, Canada More info here Hi Foxy, I searched everywhere for an interview with Mars Bonfire but found nothing.I wanted to know what inspired him to write the song and how he felt about it becoming a biker anthem. It seems no one has ever asked him.
  18. Easy Rider and Born To Be Wild The only thing I can say here is what the movie and the song mean to me.The movie and the song are about freedom. Here we have two young guys with no jobs or family ties to hold them down. The open road beckons. They come and go as they please like two wandering cowboys in the old west but instead of horses they ride Harley Davidsons. There's a thrill in wondering what's around the bend or over the next hill.Wild women and free love or Sex,Drugs and Rock N Roll. What could be more exciting than that?I really envy these guys.To be young with a cool motorcycle and plenty of money.I love that and I dream about it.Captain America is the chopper with tons of chrome and the American flag painted on the gas tank. It's the most famous motorcycle ever and has been replicated over and over again.Hey!! Get your motor running Head out on the highway Lookin' for adventure In whatever comes our way Here and god are gonna' make it happen Take the world in a love embrace Fire all of your guns at once and Explode into space I like smoke and lightning Heavy metal thunder Racin' with the wind And the feeling that that I'm under Like a true nature's child We were born, born to be wild We can climb so high I never want to die Born to be wild
  19. As far as I know there are two basic choices. One is a Tube Amp,the other is a Solidstate Amp.There's tons of information on the web covering the subject.Do your research and then you'll have a better idea of what fits your budget and your style of playing.Don't run out and buy a Marshall Stack just because your favorite player uses one onstage. Those can cost a few thousand dollars or more. When not onstage most of these guys practice through a small amp or no amp at all. My personal preference is the Tube Amp.Maybe solidstate amps are better now,I don't know. But the tube sounds better to me.Solidstate amps usually aren't very heavy. On the other hand the Tube Amps are quite heavy and not so easy to move around. My brother and me have found quite a few affordable guitars and amps in pawn shops. There is also a lot of junk to be found there as well.Take someone with you who knows what to look for and you won't get stuck with a crap instrument. I have and old Peavey Classic tube amp with the Tremolo effect built in.My wife bought it at a garage sale for $25.I love that old amp.It has that surf sound like The Ventures.A lot of people hate Peaveys but they are very affordable.I have another Peavey tube amp from a pawn shop. It's a Heritage VTX and it rocks.I have a small Marshall tube amp that is quite old.It doesn't have reverb and that sucks. It is for sale. That doesn't mean I don't like Marshalls because I do.Hendrix used them and I love his sound. All I'm trying to say is you can get something good and not spend a fortune if your careful. p.s. if anyone here has a Mesa Boogie they'd be willing to "give" me.I'll pay the shipping :happybanana:
  20. ZZ Top....Jesus Just Left Chicago and.......Blue Jean Blues
