Why is ELO's Out of the Blue on the British charts?

Is anyone here from the U.K.?

I noticed that Out of the Blue from ELO was in the top fifty in current album sales, and was 18th last week.

It is common, here in the US, for greatest hits albums of older groups to make an occasional run up the charts, but Out of the Blue is a studio album from the seventies.

Can anyone explain why it is making a run over there, nearly thirty years after it's release?

according to Wikipedia a remastered version of Out of the Blue was realeased in February 07

(Balance of Power too btw)

also a lost track from 1977s Out of the Blue sessions was released as a single on February 6th titled "Latitude 88 North"

so, one 'new' song + heavy merchandising/commercials = people buying old albums again  :P

Right Martin. Besides, it's worthy.

Oh, it's definitely a worthy album. I'd consider it Jeff Lynne's crowning acheivement. It's still surprising that a thirty year-old record could climb into the top twenty based on a a few unreleased songs and a 24 page booklet.

Good marketing.
