Sweet Jane 61
The Rolling Stones, long identified with their lips-and-tongue logo, are about to get the cartoon treatment in "Ruby Tuesday," an animated film featuring 12 of their songs. The story is described as "a Faustian tale of a single mother searching for happiness in New York." The film's song selection has not been finalized, though presumably the Keith Richards-composed 1967 title track will be included. The project will be written and directed by brothers Paul and Gaetan Brizzi, best known for their animated French family adventure "Asterix vs. Caesar" and for the "Firebird Suite" segment of "Fantasia 2000." The Brizzis approached Victoria Pearman, who runs Mick Jagger's Jagged Films with the idea for the film. She and talent firm International Creative Management enlisted French filmmaker Luc Besson's EuropaCorp to co-produce and finance the project. Production is set to begin later this year.
