RonJonSurfer
I thought this comment by Mets pitcher Steve Trachsel was funny. Yesterday was 40 years since The Beatles played their last show at Shea Stadium in NY. Before the show and between innings, a tribute band played Beatles songs. The Mets got out to a 10-2 lead, but the Cards started to catch up. Explaining why he started to give away a large lead, here was one of Trachsel's comments: Trachsel was annoyed that a Beatles tribute band, 1964 The Tribute, repeatedly played when he was ready to throw his first pitch of an inning. "Somebody needs to tell them when the batter's in the box, you're not supposed to play," he said I'm a big Mets fan, but Steve, that's a lame excuse. Luckily the Mets won 10-8. I'll be at Shea tomorrow. I remember Going to The World's Fair in New York as a kid (1965) and being told that The Beatles played Shea the night before. It was exciting a day later!!
