Claims that Canadian rockers Rush missed out on gig revenue following a 2003 altercation with police has been dismissed by a federal judge. Geddy Lee Weinrib and Neil Peart sought damages from sheriff's deputies who scuffled with guitarist Alex Lifeson at a hotel party to ring in 2004 at the Ritz-Carlton in Naples, Florida. In the brawl, Lifeson broke his nose and received other minor injuries after tumbling down a stairwell. He was later arrested with his son Justin, who officers were originally sent to detain. US District Judge John E. Steele ruled earlier this month the band's case was weak and threw it out. Lifeson - who accepted a plea deal in April that included no jail time - is still seeking millions of dollars in a pending lawsuit against the hotel and the deputies. The case is expected to go to trial next year. Copyright World Entertainment News Network 2006
