Alan
I'm a new band leader with a Big Band and I'm looking for interesting facts and trivia on some of the songs I'll be performing. If anyone has any interesting stuff I can use as 'patter' I'd certainly appreciate any input I can get on the following songs...New York, New York - The Lady is a Tramp, and On the Way to Cape May Thanx a bunch! If anyone knows of a resource I could use for Big Band and swing music, that would be much appreciated also! Thanx again Edited March 6, 2006 by Guest Please follow the posting guidelines

Jazzcat
Alan, can't give you anything on those specific tunes but here's a great resource for short stories etc. Get the book "Jazz Annecdotes" by Bill Crow. It's published by Oxford Press and is a wonderful collection of short stories, jokes, and wacky incidents in the lives of many jazz figures.
