Kevin
Last Christmas we received an electric slow cooker as a present . They are great for winter chow , and especially if you are both out and busy . I've tried most of the few recipies that came with the manual , but I'm wondering if anyone else out there has some tips or recipies that they like for their slow cooker . Post 'em here . I've found that a few dashes of Liquid Smoke is great for any Barbeque / tomato based sauces ...
DiggsUK
I don't have one, but I know a man wot does. Try using Guiness as a medium for beef he says... Regards
Uncle Joe
The slow cooker is excellent for those tougher cuts of meat. We cook a London Broil in the slow cooker (crock pot) all day and it is always tender and tasty. We hadn't had similar success in our oven's broiler. I like the Guiness idea, Diggs. Thanks for the tip.
PSYCHOcatholic
MMM...my grandma has this recipe from Ireland for Beef Stew. We use a crock pot and it takes almost 6 hours to make...then about 2 to cool off in your bowl. Perfect for Winter! One of her secrets is a can of Budweiser Beer. Not light! The alcohol cooks off, but it makes it taste so much better.

PSYCHOcatholic
lol, in my grandmas brain. BASICALLY...if you can make good beef stew...add a can of budweiser...then i think your close. Be able to cut the garlic and onions so thin that they can melt in the pot.
Elvish
My grandma on my dad's side used to drink Budweiser in a can! Sounds good tho, Paul. Do you think it would work the same with bottled Bud? I don't think I could stand to drink the rest of that 6-pack out of cans
PSYCHOcatholic
oh Definitely...Bottles always taste better IMO.
