This is my first post, so if it's been done, I apologize, but I'm just curious. I'm a pretty big Floyd fan, but it has only been in the past month or so that I started looking into the solo work of Syd, Roger, and Dave. I wanted to know the thoughts of the esteemed Songfacts.com posters on their albums. Personally, I kind of like The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking as a whole. Fire away, ladies and gentlemen.

I don't care much for the Dave and Roger stuff, but Syd is great. Opus, Madcap and Barret, all have great songs. Some might sound incomplete, but there's some true gems between the decadence.

The Post Syd/ Pre Wall era was full of great musicians as a whole. All I've heard is a little Roger Waters solo stuff, but it's not as good as he was Pink Floyd. I guess Pink Floyd was one of those bands that was great collaboratively, but couldn't do much on their own.

Pink Floyd sounds like a couple of other bands that imploded due to ego problems. The Police and The Smiths: the collective is better than the sum of the separate parts.
