Mike Posted September 22, 2004 Report Posted September 22, 2004 - CCR has always been one of my favorite bands, love their music! John Fogerty
MindCrime Posted September 22, 2004 Report Posted September 22, 2004 he spent his time putting out albums he hopes people have forgotten I haven't, most of his music paled in comparison to his work with CCR, but he still had a pretty good run at it with his solo career. Old Man Down the Road was a pretty good song, & a surprise semi comeback. His Zombie Eye(sp?) album started to show his slowing down as he progressed with a tried topic, that he had already established before. I think he's mostly just being modest for the benefit of the article though.
_jr_ Posted September 22, 2004 Report Posted September 22, 2004 I always thought "Old Man" would have easily fit right into any CCR album. Sounds alot like Run Through the Jungle.
edna Posted September 23, 2004 Report Posted September 23, 2004 Even if his comeback (15 years ago?) wasn´t CCR, John Fogerty IS CCR... So I wouldn´t mind if I was him, he´s done one of the greatest pages of rock and roll. And I´ll allways be a Fogerty fan.
MuzikTyme Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 I always thought "Old Man" would have easily fit right into any CCR album. Sounds alot like Run Through the Jungle. So much that he was sued because of it. ::
Mike Posted September 29, 2004 Author Report Posted September 29, 2004 On a diversion of topic, but relevant to the last post. Do you think George Harrison should have appealed the ruling that "My Sweet Lord" was a rip-off of "She's so fine"? I think he should have, and I believe with a different judge, he may very well have won!
MuzikTyme Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 I think he should have but the first case was so dragged out that I imagine he was glad that it was over.
edna Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 First time I heard "My Sweet Lord" I thought he was singing "My sweet Laure", which made more sense for me... Anyway, we´re missing the point...
MindCrime Posted September 30, 2004 Report Posted September 30, 2004 I thought this thread was going to be about some "Coming out of the Closet" thing, whew am I relieved
