At Edith Kanakaole Tennis Stadium, the 2018 Merrie Monarch Hula festival/competition has been ongoing since this past Thursday. A celebration of Hawaiian music and Hula culture, this festival has been drawing international crowds and participants for years. This year, the first voyagers to Tahiti on the Polynesian voyaging canoe, Hokule'a are memorialized in song.
