Otokichi 9
Hawaii's state legislature is in session, and The Homeless Question promises to define local elections. This Hooters song puts a face to street people in a way that "Another Day In Paradise" doesn't. Out here, housing is priced for the rich folk, be they local, foreign, or part-time-second-home buyers. Still, there is justice at the local level; a condominium project for 1% types crashed and burned, due to "excess supply of premium properties." A "what is/was he thinking!?" award goes to the local solon who suggested that the state capitol's reflecting pool could be fitted with Las Vegas-style "dancing waters" fountains to bring tourists in at night for a few million dollars. (And think of what the homeless folk would do with this free sound-and-light public shower system...)
