MindCrime
Last night I attended this concert and had a blast. The band put out 20 songs ranging from their entire discography and included most of their hits. Their guitar playing was phenomenal (even sounded better than in the studio recording version) and anyone could feel the bass and drums from a mile away. The light show was one of the best I've seen and the tribute to Layne Staley really helped keep the momentum of this band's story. I'd say this is probably the best concert I've ever been to, but mostly because this is one of my all-time favorite bands.
MuzikTyme
A shame Layne wasn't vocalizing.
MindCrime
A shame Layne wasn't vocalizing. That's what I was thinking too, it just wasn't the same. The new guy did a decent job though.
MuzikTyme
Cool! How was their rendition of Man in the Box?
MindCrime
It was solid and sounded a bit like the studio version, but not quite the same. It seemed like they updated it a bit to sound like today's style of music. The lights got brighter everytime he sang "buried in my sh*t".
MuzikTyme
Lights staged properly, IMO, make the concert! Though, everytime I think of Layne T. Staley's untimely death I ask myself why do the good die young? Tribute to Layne Staley
RonJonSurfer
My oldest son saw Alice in Chains at Madison Square Garden a week or so ago. (I think it was last Friday.)
