Mike
The song that made me think about this topic of discussion was The Rolling Stones tune "She's So Cold", which is not in the database (probably because it is pretty simple and senseless lyrics, but a catchy-ass tune) -- anyway, turns out the SF data-base does have a whole category of these types of songs. How many more can be listed, maybe ones that aren't so obvious.
Carl
There's a fine line between the "Heartache" and "Unrequited Love" category. In many ways, I think songs like The Girl from Ipanema are about as heartwrenching as Tracks of My Tears. In these cases, you just want the singer to move on, but he can't because his heart gets in the way.
MuzikTyme
There's a song by ZZ Top that makes me think of what y'all are saying, Mike and Carl. Sadly, there is no video for it ATT but the lyrics go like this . . . Heartbreaker ~ ZZ Top (verse) She used to drive a beat-up pickup, down around San Antone Stealin' the heart of every guy in town includin' the one I own You see this sweet young thing at seventeen hit me with the lovesick blues She was a blond haired blue-eyed picture of death lookin' for someone to use. (chorus) She's a Lover and fighter She's a Wild-bull rider And I'm wonderin' why she left me such a long time ago She's a Heartbreaker She's a Love-taker She can break a heart and take all the love she needs . . . (verse) Well I heard she got down in Beaumont and she wound up in El Paso She was tough as a boot and thin as a rail and could step up to the Cotton-Eyed Joe Now if ya run across this flagrant fluzzy Slip out and get her while you can Because before too long she'll be good as gone And running with another man . . . Repeat chorus

bazooka
Down So Low - Tracy Nelson I wish I could find her original version with Mother Earth. It is absolutely killer. By Tracy's own account, she wrote the song over Steve Miller. Linda Ronstadt covered it.
Tenacious_Peaches
I suppose this is more about unrequited sex but I think it still applies. Sex, love...what's the difference? If - Janet Jackson Sittin' over here Starin' in your face With lust in my eyes Sure don't give a damn and Ya don't know That I've been dreamin' of ya in my fantasy Never once you looked at me, Don't even realize that I'm wantin' you To fulfill my needs Think what you want Let your mind free Run free to a place that no one dares to How many nights I've laid in bed excited over you I've closed my eyes and thought of us, A hundred different ways I've gotten there so many times I wonder how 'bout you Day and night, night and day All I've got to say is Chorus: If I was your girl... Oh the things I'll do to you I'd make you call out my name I'd ask who it belongs to If I was your woman, The things I'd do to you But I'm not, so I can't, Then I won't But, if I was your girl Allow me some time to play with your mind And you'll get there again and again Close your eyes and imagine my body undressed Take your time, we've got all night You on the rise as you're touchin' my thighs And let me know what you like If you like, I'll go down Da down down down da down down I'll hold you in my hand and baby Your smooth and shiny feels so good against my lips, sugar I want you so bad I can taste your love Right now, baby Day and night, night and day All I've got to say is Chours (x2) I've laid in bed excited over you One hundred different ways I've thought of Many, Maaaaaannnnny All I want to say is (Chours til end)
