c_s_1987
Both the US men's and women's relay teams dropped the batons in the heats. Oh well, I guess I'd really prefer to see Jamaica win.
Levis
Me too! It's terribly boring to root for teams that keep winning. Such as *koff* Australia *koff*

Shawna
I read tonight that they're fixin' to investigate the little girl on the Chinese gymnastics team - He Xixan (sp?) because there was evidently something posted (that was removed 3 weeks before the Olympics began) on the Chinese government Web site that states her birth date as 01/01/94, whereas her passport now states it as 01/01/92. Kevin
The Olympic Commitee has claimed that they are satisfied . ( And the comped penthouse suites in the Mandarin Oriental Beijing along with 1st class seats on Singapore Airlines and a little ' trouble ' cash didn't hurt either ... )

Don't they usually end up with 5-7 assorted medals ?! 1950's-60's Britain : "Oi ! I'm not sure I like all these immigrants coming into the country . I think they're up to no good ! MarcM
OK, I am no longer modest (ie, I looked it up)...as of 4 hours ago: "The United States remains in the lead in the Olympic medal count, with a total of 95. That includes 29 gold, 34 silver and 32 bronze." Another one of my local athlete types is playing Japan in Womans Softball. She will either win gold or silver. If the Chinese get their medals in gymnastics stripped, we will have a few more golds.
The Seeker
Ireland won one bronze medal in boxing. We're guaranteed at least two more -- in boxing as well.
