Winger20
Ok, so I heard this song the other day and the only lyrics I remember are "sleeping in the midday sun" Now it's not John Cale or The Kinks, it was a very soft beautiful female voice..she keeps repeating that with smoothe instruments in the back ground..such a pretty song..any idea?? HELP! It could be Sitting in the midday sun now that I think about it.
johnnyguitar
Lazybones, sleepin in the sun....how you spect to get your days work done? You cant get your days work done......sleepin in the noon day sun Lazybones, layin in the shade....how you gonna get your cornmeal made? You cant get no cornmeal made....sleepin in that evening shade When taters need sprayin, I bet you keep prayin The bugsll fall off of the vine And when you go fishin I bet you keep wishin Them fish dont grab your line Lazybones, loafin all the day.....how you spect to make a dime that way? You wont make no dime that way.....loafin in the shade all day ? Lazy Bones. Never heard it done by a woman before though.
The Seeker
There's Buffalo Ballet by the Walkabouts. Their singer seems to be female. Buffalo Ballet When abilene was young and gay And thunder storms filled up the day The cattle roamed outside the town Sleeping in the midday sun Sleeping in the midday sun Sleeping in the midday sun Sleeping in the midday sun Then tracks were lain across the plain By broken old men in torrid rains The towns grew up and the people were still Sleeping in the midday sun Sleeping in the midday sun Sleeping in the midday sun Sleeping in the midday sun We all joined in and all joined hands All joined in to help run this land Then soldiers came, long long ago Rode through the town and rode down those who were Sleeping in the midday sun Sleeping in the midday sun Sleeping in the midday sun Sleeping in the midday sun Gold came and went, quickly spent And the people broke down and often drowned In the wealth and pain of old abilene Sleeping in the midday sun Sleeping in the midday sun Sleeping in the midday sun Sleeping in the midday sun
edna
I think Buffalo vBallet is the John Cale´s song... I might be wrong...
The Seeker
It is, but I thought that Winger only said it's not the Kinks or John Cale because it was sung by a female.
