  1. I have seen Elton over twenty times. From his flamboyant years to current. Of all of the concerts my favorite is still my very first one. It was November 28, 1974 at the Garden in NY when he began a run of 4 shows (first two at the Garden and next two at Nassau Colisseum). Anyway I was at the Thanksgiving show on the 28th. That night he introduced a special guest, John Lennon. It was like a dream come true. Never seeing Lennon and watching him perform with Elton was surely exciting. Sadly, that would be the last time Lennon would ever perform in public. His flamboyancy peaked during his run of 7 shows at the Garden in 1976 when he first came out as the Statue of Liberty. I saw him at his peak and at his lows (1980 he played to a half full house at the Palladium on 14th Street). Through the last 30 years of seeing him in concert I will say I never left disappointed.
  2. Well....I would start with the song that is said to have set off Rock and Roll and that would be Rock Around the Clock. From there I would continue with: Won't Get Fooled Again - The Who Stairway To Heaven - Led Zeppelin Me and Booby McGee - Janis Joplin Purple Haze - Jimi Hendrix Revolution - The Beatles We're An American Band - Grand Funk Railroad Freebird (live version) - Lynyrd Skynyrd Layla - Derek And The Dominoes Satisfaction - The Rolling Stones Born To Run - Bruce Springsteen Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd Hotel California - The Eagles I would then finish off the CD with Queen's "The Show Must Go On".
  3. To be honest....there is only one rapper I listened to in the past and his raps were really not bad at all. Alot of the raps sent positive messages. His name....WILL SMITH (The Fresh Prince).
  4. I am not going to say it was better because it is a Beatles song.....but Aerosmith's "Come Together" was by far the best cover of any Beatle's song.
  5. Didn't see American Graffiti listed in the thread. If you are a fan of 50's and very early 60's music, there are plenty of standards on the soundtrack. I highly recommend it. Also, as a teen I couldn't get enough of the movie version of Tommy by The Who.
