  1. Another one just occurred to me. On the Beatles White Album (1968) John Lennon sings, on "I'm So Tired", ....and curse Sir Walter Raleigh he was such a stupid GET. These days, "get" may not sound like foul language but it certainly was in England in the 1960's. The Monkees song Alternate Title was originally titled Randy Scouse Get but they had to change it so the BBC would not ban it. As for the meaning of "Scouse", that's another story......
  2. What about Country Joe and the Fish at Woodstock (1969) when they replaced the F.I.S.H. cheer on "I Feel Like I'm Fixing To Die" with the F.*.*.* cheer? It's on the Woodstock album.
  3. I recently downloaded the Jonathon King version for my partner. She said that version was OK but nowhere near as good as the Dr Hook version. So I downloaded that too and discovered that both versions are almost identical. Ooga chaka ooga ooga ooga chaka............
  4. How about Temporary, Like Achilles from Bob Dylan's Blonde on Blonde album? Very strange lyrics indeed. XXX rated.
  5. Octopus's Garden by The Beatles is a water related song with some bubbly sounds in the middle and kids tend to love it. Mine did.
  6. Nutrocker by B.Bumble and The Stingers in 1962, based on Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker Suite." Also recorded by Emerson, Lake & Palmer in 1972. Lot's of other things by Emerson, Lake & Palmer such as Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition", Sibelius" "Karelia Suite", Tchaikovsky's "Pathetique Symphony (#6)".
  7. This one's been driving me mad for months. Which song contains the lyrics "it's got mag alloy wheels and extractors too"? I've searched the lyrics of Chuck Berry, The Beach Boys, Bruce Springsteen to no avail. Anybody out there know?
