  1. There's probably already a thread for this but I searched and couldn't find it. What are some bands that you used to dislike but have now grown to like? I used to really hate Lil Wayne, but I started listening to his mixtapes and less popular songs, and I realized he's actually a really good rapper, I just had a hard time liking him at first since I dislike his cocky personality. Plus I felt kind of weird about liking such a mainstream rapper. Turns out he's actually really good. I also didn't like Radiohead very much the first time I heard them, probably because they are a band that focuses a lot on making complete albums, and when I first heard them I was more into listening to single songs.
  2. Haha, yes I suppose I do, I just get bothered when nostalgiac baby boomers complain about all the bands today that are "only in it for the money," when all their favorite bands are going on these shameless reunion tours.
  3. Damn, he was a great drummer. I always thought he was pretty underrated and overshadowed, being in Jimi's band.
  4. If someone asked me if I was a Pixies fan I would say yes, even though the only albums I really enjoy are Doolittle and Surfer Rosa.
  5. I guess they just really like money.
  6. raekwon was named the chef because he loved to cook both food and crack rocks
  7. I had always thought "pop" meant "popular" So long ago, classical would be "pop"
  8. Haha yes I'm 19 by now. Thanks for the compliments
  9. It's interesting that you bring up Negativland...You can tell that they (and the KLF) are a huge influence on Girl Talk just by lisetning to him, although they both represent completely opposite things. Negativland was very anti-commercial, but Girl Talk really embraces commercial pop. Girl Talk seems to love the society that Negativland mocked, even though musically, Girl Talk took a lot of cues from them. Anyways, glad you liked it. Do you like the KLF at all? I've got some of their house stuff but I've been trying to obtain their sample-based music ever since hearing "Whitney Joins the JAMS"
  10. Oh well thanks! I guess I just assumed you were sarcastic because rereading my first sentence, "an pretty good guy" makes me sound kinda dull myself.
  11. Hey thanks! Unless you're being sarcastic. My first sentence has some strange grammar...
  12. Yeah, you definitely would have to be really down with pop to like him
  13. He did love the 8 ball as well though Snoop is probably more often associated with gin and juice
  14. I just really like NWA that's all
  15. http://quizfarm.com/quizzes/new/Iluminasty/which-wutang-clan-mc-are-you-most-like/ I am the Ghostface Killah. Which makes sense because I'm tough like an elephant tusk.
  16. had this idea because it was in the songfacts top ten
  17. both very classy drinks. which do you prefer/find yourself drinking more often? if either?
  18. You are way too clever for me. I shouldn't get involved in this argument because there's no way I could defend myself against someone with such a sharp wit as yourself.
  19. Marriage has to be between one man and one woman. Why does it have to be that way? Because that's what I was told, and why would I be lied to?
  20. I think Bush is an pretty good guy, he's just not the sharpest tool in the shed. Perhaps even one of the dullest. If he was smarter, or if he just didn't surround himself with people like Rumsfeld and Cheney who could take advantage of him, I think he would have been an alright president.
