  8. I completely understand. And was especially nervous when Mom and my brother were in Memphis for so long last summer. Really freaked me out that they were on the other side of the river. But then again, I'm paranoid

  10. Oh wow, Shannon! I'm glad you're family is okay. Didn't know they were so close...
  11. Ah, David Allan Coe. He's still the man, but the years have not been kind...
  12. You know, earthquakes freak me out more than tornadoes. Technology is dang good now and we normally have some warning with tornadoes. Earthquakes are here and gone before ya know it. When I lived on the New Madrid fault, every single time the earth moved I would wonder if it was the "Big One."
  13. I didn't feel it, but it woke my mom up bright and early. My old home place is much closer to the epicenter. And this is a woman who's been through literally hundreds of tremors and quakes (right on the fault there) and her first thought was that the bed was shaking because my dad was haunting her She should be a blonde

  15. Me too, Shawna. A song is worth a whole lotta diamonds and gold in my opinion
  16. And on a related note... Family Tradition ~ Hank Williams Jr Country music singers Have always been a real close family But lately some of my kin folks have disowned a few others and me I guess its because I kinda changed my direction I guess i went and broke the family tradition They get on me wanna know Hank Why do you drink? (Hank) why do you roll smoke? Why must you live out the songs that you wrote? Over and over Everybody made my prediction So if I get stoned I'm just carryin' on an old family tradition I am very proud of my daddy's name Although his kinda music and mine ain't exactly the same Stop and think it over put yourself in my position If I get stoned and sing all night long it's a family tradition Don't ask me Hank Why do you drink? (Hank) why do you roll smoke? Why must you live out the songs that you wrote? If I'm down in a Honky-Tonk Some ol' slick's tryin to give me corrections I'll say leave me alone I'm singin all night long it's a family tradition Lordy, I have loved some ladies and I have loved Jim Beam and they both tried to kill me in 1973 when that doctor asked me Son how did you get in this condition I said hey sawbones I'm just carryin on an old family tradition So don't ask me Hank Why do you drink? (Hank) why do you roll smoke? Why must you live out the songs you wrote? Stop and think it over Try and put yourself in my unique position If I get stoned and sing all night long It's a family tradition!
  17. Here ya go, Muzik (although it ends rather abruptly):
  18. This cracks me up - makes me think of where I'm from: Redneck Neighborhood Watch
  19. Another Waylon & Willie song that is all tangled up with childhood memories. Whenever my dad got together with friends, pickin' and grinnin' I'd always request this one Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys Cowboys ain't easy to love and they're harder to hold. They'd rather give you a song than diamonds or gold. Lonestar belt buckles and old faded levis, And each night begins a new day. If you don't understand him, an' he don't die young, He'll prob'ly just ride away. Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys. Don't let 'em pick guitars or drive them old trucks. Let 'em be doctors and lawyers and such. Mamas don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys. 'Cos they'll never stay home and they're always alone. Even with someone they love. Cowboys like smokey old pool rooms and clear mountain mornings, Little warm puppies and children and girls of the night. Them that don't know him won't like him and them that do, Sometimes won't know how to take him. He ain't wrong, he's just different but his pride won't let him, Do things to make you think he's right.
  20. But I was talking about distilled white vinegar
  21. Good country advice: You get more flies with honey than you do with vinegar. Always swim upstream from the cattle. Sometimes you're the windshield; sometimes you're the bug. If you find yourself in a hole, the best thing you can do is stop diggin'
  22. Could be about my Mama - bless her heart
  23. Lost returns in ONE WEEK!
  24. Sorry - wish I could help. I found it on photobucket
