  1. That's because she does so much one can make fun of.
  2. I think Lee,Kid and Britney should start a band. Of course they will need to find somebody who can sing .
  3. Pink Houses - John Mellencamp And Lucky thanks for the Youtube help. You can do it for this one too...lol.
  4. First time in this thread and also need help with the You tube. "Amie" - Pure Prairie League.
  5. I do remember in the early days of the MTV awards and similar shows, performers like Aerosmith and others performed live.
  6. I saw it on the news this morning and couldn't believe it. I mean,of course I have never thought Britney could sing, but she usually put on a pretty good show as far as shock value during award shows, like "The Kiss" with Madonna a few years back. It's going to be interesting how this will affect her singing career since those exploits on those shows in years past helped propel album sales. This may have the opposite effect. And as far as her performance last night, she looked like somebody doing a bad audition for American Idol. The difference being of course, those who audition actually sing. Not lipsync.
  7. Yes I remember that but in no way did it come anywhere close to "Nights in White Satin". One of my favorites of all time. A classic.
  8. I think they both stand alone. They have different styles that are hard to compare. I think this is more about personal choices and which band a person would rather listen to if given the choice. I think if I were asked daily,I would have a different choice every day. Depending on my mood and what I wanted to listen to at the time.
  9. Well,I'm upper, upper class high society God's gift to ballroom notoriety And I always fill my ballroom, the event is never small The social pages say I've got the biggest balls of all Big Balls - AC/DC
  10. Actually it was sarcasm.....and the moon I was born under was A Whiter Shade of Pale...not faded
  11. Wow. A radio station that takes requests. What an interesting idea .
  12. On a long and lonesome highway east of Omaha You can listen to the engine moaning out its one lone song You can think about the woman or the girl you knew the night before Turn The Page - Bob Seger
  13. I don't know if "worked up" is the correct term but I think most on here are passionate about their opinions concerning music, which is why this site is here. To voice your opinion of the topics being discussed. No reason to be "weary". If you have something to say,you may as well speak your mind. I don't think any responses to your opinions would be personal attacks although I am sure there will be those who disagree with your thoughts. Which is fine too. Would be a very boring site if everybody agreed on everything .
  14. And also because they are considered to be classics.Which is why radio stations with a format of classic rock, play them.
  15. It's like deja vue all over again .
  16. I'm sure it is and knowing that why did you want Jane's opinion? She is a DJ here in the states and Kentucky, believe it or not,is a part of the USA.
  17. Guess I better get used to it then,huh?... ...oh and like I have said before in this thread,The Rolling Stones are very diverse .
  18. It seems the topic of this thread has again shifted from its original question concerning The Who and Led Zepp to the ongoing discussion of The Rolling Stones being diverse or not.
  19. I never said the DJ's set the song schedules as what is to be played. I think usually the station manager does this or somebody like that. And I would say all the stations that I listen to have a request line. I don't think that's so unusual, even for today. Of course I'm not Jane, who is a DJ,but I think it's common knowledge that a lot of radio stations, especially classic stations, take requests from their listeners.
  20. My guess is these songs are played a lot because the listeners are calling in requesting the songs to be played. Which may once again bring comments from the crowd here that the reason those songs get requested is because some of the listeners only know those songs. That's not my opinion of course. I think they request them because they like hearing those songs over and over again because they love them. I would also think it would be hard not to include the songs mentioned in this thread if you are running a classic rock radio station since almost all of the songs are considered classics. What are they supposed to play?
  21. I don't think millions of people would smack down hundreds of dollars to see a band in concert because its "nostalgia". So in 45 years,if one of your favorite bands is still around, you going to say you are going to see them because of "nostalgia"?
  22. Well I know I can't convince you that The Stones aren't a "terrible" band although I will say that I don't think a terrible band could stay in business for over 45 years. And I am sure if I listened to artists that you like,I may say they are terrible. Wonder if any of them will be around in 45 years?
