Frightened Rabbit - "December's Traditions" December's traditions suck the last of summer from our cheeks Draws the curtains, strips the trees In so-called living rooms, Scottish pastimes come to roost Love's labor's stained linen sheet The ghostly body who makes his bed beside you Is slowly losing teeth The boy needs sunlight and a shot of modesty He needs to get some sleep It's not the answer sticky plaster on a shattered bone What do you need, what do you need from me It's not the answer, treating cancer like a cold What do you need, what do you need from me? After months of grieving, well, f*ck the grief, I'm leaving! Will you leave with me? The blood loss, the towering cost Mouth to mouth, tongue to tongue The lick brings warm metallic taste I can't correct myself, convince you That there's no one else in volume, good news If you want a saint, you don't want me It's not the answer sticky plaster on a shattered bone What do you need, what do you need from me? It's not the answer, treating cancer like the cold What do you need, what do you need from me? It's not the answer, I'm just begging to be told What do you need, what do you need from me? If I had the answer, I'd write a book of what I know What do you need, what do you need from me?

1. what is THE song that you can never get sick of? The Stars by Jukebox the Ghost Perfect indie pop here. 2. which song is the one that, even though you have had a TERRIBLE day, it can ALWAYS make you feel better to hear it? Squealing Pigs by Admiral Fallow Between them and Frightened Rabbit, I'm set for my Scottish accents for life. 4. what song do you always yell "TURN IT UP" to? The Battle of Hampton Roads by Titus Andronicus Especially the bagpipes about 9 and a half minutes in. 5. and what is the song that just MAKES your day? Tomorrow is a Latter Day from the Book of Mormon Original Cast Recording. It never ceases to put a smile on my face.

New Found Glory-Drill It In My Brain Does every teenager go through a phase where they like pop-punk, or is it just my brother and me? Now...Original Cast of "Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson"-Rock Star I actually am not one of AJ's biggest fans, but I appreciate this show as an American History nerd...and who can hate lyrics like these: "Why don't you just shoot me in the head 'cause you know I'd be better off dead if there's really no place in America for a celebrity of the first rank." And, the actor playing AJ traditionally gives an audience member a lap dance in the bridge, while ad-libbing things about his "stimulus package" and "populajism."

'27 dead' in Connecticut primary school shooting
Skuff replied to Farin's topic in News and Current Events
As a high school student, I'll chime in here. My high school is staffed by a fully-equipped police officer. He's friendly, but I wouldn't mess with him--I've seen what happens when a fight breaks out. Also, we have a few security guards at the school, but they're more for hall duty and are only armed with a walkie-talkie. The middle school also has a School Resource Officer, but they didn't get one until last year. The High School's had one for a long time. The high school isn't really in the best area. It's right on the border between two neighborhoods, neither of which are the best places to live. Despite this, I never really feel threatened in school. In order to get in, one MUST be let in by a security guard who then takes you to the office. All the doors are locked. I don't feel that this is a problem. I don't feel as if my freedom is threatened. I just have a feeling that the two Elementary schools are going to get SRO's as well in the wake of this tragedy. -
