  2. It's settled, the Stones are still the reigning kings of Rock and Roll. Mick can still move like he's 20, Keith is the most animated zombie I've ever seen, Charlie can slam down beats like nobody else, and Ron can shred with the best. They played a great mix of rarities- including "Sway", and "You Got Me Rockin'"- and favorites like "Bitch", "Jumpin' Jack Flash", "Sympathy for the Devil" and "Satisfaction". The encore consisted of "You Can't Always Get What You Want" and "Brown Sugar". The set lasted about 2 and a half hours. The stage was incredible. When it came to lighting and pyrotechnics, nothing was held back. There was even a part of the stage that seperated from the main stage and carried the band out into the middle of the audience. Basically, last night was one of the best experiences of my life. I've never seen a concert that great and I highly doubt I ever will. We (my dad and I) ended up with a great spot on the lawn. There were 42,000 people in the park, and there couldn't have been more than 2,000 in front of us. We were so close, I could almost count the wrinkles on Keith's face. If anyone there was more excited than me, it was my dad. He explained, "You're 16, I'm 44, I've been waiting a lot longer than you have." P.S. I would put in a mini-review of the opening act (Los Lonely Boys), but I didn't get to see them. As soon as they finished their first song, I realized I had to relieve myself. I made my way back to the bathrooms, where I encountered a long line. After a while, I began to worry that Los Lonely Boys would finish and the Stones would come on, and I'd still be waiting to pee. So I gave up on the line, walked over to the fence, and let it go. My first public urination at a concert, and I wasn't even on anything!
  3. "You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes you just might find you get what you need." -Sir Michael Jagger
  4. The Doors are definitely my favorite band, but I can't choose one song. The live performance of the epic "Celebration of the Lizard" is definitely up there, though.
  5. I love hippies, but I'm far too cynical to actually be one. That whole concept of world peace... it's just not gonna happen! It would be great, but it's not gonna happen.
  6. Sorry, I just wrote a page summary of Joseph Conrad's "Heart of Darkness" for school. That fills up my summary quota for the day.
  7. The lineup for "Hey Bulldog" looks good. Other than that, it doesn't sound too interesting.
  8. That was one badass polar bear. Good to see that Locke is a leader again. But what the heck happened to Desmond's clothes?
  9. I already nominated that, but it's good to know I have your vote!
  10. "Even the Losers" and "Runnin' Down A Dream"- Tom Petty Heck, just pick almost any Tom Petty song and it'll fit into one moment of my life.
  11. The guy who played Sky at my school could hold his own when he was singing alone, just because he put a lot into it. Unfortunately, when his part called for him to harmonize, it was painful.
  12. For one thing, I love Frank Sinatra. Also, my old school did Guys and Dolls last year. They did pretty good, actually. Obviously there were no Frank Sinatra level singers in little ol' Steilacoom High School, but they held their own.
  13. 1. "For Those About to Rock"- AC/DC 2. "Cocaine"- Eric Clapton 3. "Bang and Blame"- REM 4. "Steady As She Goes"- The Raconteurs 5. "Luck Be A Lady"- Frank Sinatra 6. "Tush"- ZZ Top 7. "Absolutely Sweet Marie"- Bob Dylan 8. "The Joker"- Steve Miller Band 9. "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles"- The Proclaimers 10. "Shining Star"- Earth, Wind & Fire
  14. Well then I guess I'm not a classic rock snob. Most of my friends consider me a music snob, but then again most of my friends aren't as knowledgeable or accomplished as me in terms of music.
  15. Holy crap! Looks like I'm going 3-4. I'm 6-0 in my public league, believe it or not.
  16. Personally, I'm perfectly happy when Arizona loses, as they're in the same division as the Seahawks.
  17. Apparently Arizona's coach was amazed by the loss too. He had an expletive filled temper tantrum in front of the press.
  18. I'm a bit of a rock snob, apparently. This is all modern rock snobbery though. I wonder what the criteria is for classic rock snobbery.
  19. "Welcome to My Nightmare"- Alice Cooper "Season of the Witch"- Donovon "Number of the Beast"- Iron Maiden "Children of the Grave"- Black Sabbath "This is Halloween"- Danny Elfman from The Nightmare Before Christmas
  20. "Welcome to my Nightmare"- Alice Cooper "Season of the Witch"- Donovan
  21. I'm listening to Part 1 right now. The sad thing is, I know all that stuff he said about the New York Dolls .
