Guilt Like cold water going down my throat I sensed a feeling of guilt Whoever could have guessed that mistakes lead to pain The pain of others, and sorrow in myself I never knew that what I had done Could lead to so much pain The warmth left me As I tried to forget I tried to change myself But the haunting thoughts came back It's horrible to feel the pain of others When stupidity could have been so easily avoided What I feel now is missing Because I am not myself I tried to change But people hated my old self Because of what I had done By my own hand I slowly fade away with happy memories And stay in the bad ones How could I have been so stupid? I should have learned before what I had done A part of me is missing And guilt has replaced Should I say sorry? To the people I hurt? Would they believe me? Or would they care? Could they forgive me? Or will they forget me? Everyone deserves another shot Only if they mean it in their heart Forgiveness can make people feel better Hate and painful memories tear you apart A chance of redemption Can boost a new start
