  1. May I have as few more hours to listen and vote please? Busy weekend.
  2. Happy birthday pink - maybe no celebration is needed but good wishes are always welcome, in my book anyway. Hope you had a nice day.
  3. My opinion, though it wasn't asked for, would be primary vocals by only the female singer - that is how my Joan Jett nomination is listed at allmusic.com. - primary vocals, Joan Jett, and no other individual listing for vocals. I checked it out before nominating. You're almost always going to have band members that are male, and possibly backup vocals. But I agree with Darryl, no duets, no featured male artist vocals, etc. EDIT: Heads up, changed 1 nomination. Emmylou Harris switched out for ZZ Ward
  4. The End of the World - Skeeter Davis (1963) I Hate Myself for Loving You - Joan Jett & the Blackhearts (1988) Put the Gun Down - ZZ Ward (2012) That was lovely Shawna - RIP Lea - we'll miss you always
  5. Across the Board - Kantner, Slick, and Freiberg (1973) The Walk - Mayer Hawthorne (2011) Motown anyone? The video is good too. Luxury Liner - International Submarine Band (1968)
  6. We ought to take the specials discussion over to the specials thread, to cut down clutter here, but also because there are ideas there. Specials are generally well received - and can draw players that get worn out with playing the regular weekly ten. Discuss, and get some new thoughts out there. 1. Rose Of Cimarron - Poco (1976) 2. Back In The USA - Chuck Berry (1959) 3. No No Song - Ringo Starr (1975) 4. Down By The Seaside - Led Zeppelin (1975) 5. 12. Thanks Darryl! That was my first thought, but questioned myself.
  13. I have a question, it might be silly but I'm asking anyway ... In the case of a singer/songwriter, in which the first version released was by someone other than the writer, for example, Take it Easy by both the Eagles, and Jackson Browne (writer, later release) .... which is the cover? The later release, even though he wrote the song? Sorry, but these things get technical - this has always confused me.

  18. Hold onto your hat, I'm amazed at these results too: Searching title, Come Go With Me - nominated once, by the Beach Boys (different song) - not a Viking in sight, by either spelling. Searching Del Vikings: nada Searching Dell Vikings: never

  20. I'll check Darryl - though it would be easier if I knew which two songs. PT me and I'll walk you through how to search again. To be perfectly honest, we just didn't have enough time and/or manpower to keep up the archive well, and that was never my thing anyway. I'm not surprised by the errors, there could be more actually. I hope you can shape us up!
