Dappled Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 I heard it once on the radio in the mid 80s and it blew me away. It's about 7-10 minutes long and has an incredible guitar solo.
edna Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 You don´t know a single line? Or if it was from the 60s, 70s or the comeback? (Actually, did they come back or Ian Anderson was playing solo?) I will ask my husband, who´s a fan. No other fans around?
Dappled Posted February 2, 2007 Author Report Posted February 2, 2007 I heard it only this one time so I don't recall any words. It's not a 60s song though. I've heard everything by them up to Thick as a Brick. I don't remember any flute on it but it may have been some.
daslied Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 "Minstrel In The Gallery", maybe? It's from the album of the same name from 1975. I love, love this album. Anyhoo, the song starts with some acoustic guitar and singing, and then Martin Barre takes a cool little solo before the band comes in. It's about 8 minutes long, and there is no flute. http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&token=ADFEAEE4781CDC4AA57520CE9D374AC79460FD1CD047F9861129495092B63E45910977F250FC8C99FDF86AB666ADFF2EA31606D9CFEF5CFDD4764C40&sql=10:3bknu3x5an6k
Emerald Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 (edited) I was thinking Minstrel In The Gallery too. Fantastic solo. Edited February 5, 2007 by Guest
Dappled Posted February 6, 2007 Author Report Posted February 6, 2007 Thank you, I'll try and find it!
c_s_1987 Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 I'll third that one - definitely sounds like Minstrel In The Gallery. Great song.
