His girlfriend accused him of hitting her after he asked her to move out of his $7.7 million mansion. Gerrard Campbell - WJNO, West Palm Beach, Florida Investigators will not be filing any charges against New Age music artist Yanni, after he was involved in a dispute with his girlfriend at his Florida mansion. Yanni had been facing a possible domestic battery charge following a March 2 incident. There's no word from the State Attorney's office on why it dropped the charge against the musician, whose real name is John Y. Christopher. He was arrested at his West Pam Beach area home after his girlfriend called 911, alleging he struck her. The two got into an argument after Yanni asked her to move out of his $7.7 million mansion.
