Guest
I heard a trumpet instrumental version of the Anne Murray song "You Needed Me" on one of the music channels on directv. Didn't see who it was on the screen but it was so heartfelt it was like the person on the trumpet was talking through the trumpet. Anyone know who recorded a trumpet version of "You Needed Me"? Thanks. Ernie bluebird2@anaxis.net
Sara
I have to throw in, I LOVED Anne Murray when I was little. I saw her on the Muppets and was hooked! I found that there are a lot of covers of this song, but based on your description, these seemed like the best possibilities: Jonathen Allen and Strings of Life Orchestra (Smooth jazz saxophone), on the album Romantic Saxophone [2000] Claus VanMechelen (Rock Saxophone), on the album Romantic Sax for Lovers [1985] The Staff Band Of The Women's Royal Army Corp, on the album Celebration [1990] Starsound Orchestra, on the album Romance & Love Favorites [1998] You may be able to find audio samples on Amazon. Hope it helps!
Tenacious_Peaches
I remember back in the early 80s, that song was used on "The Guiding Light" (a soap opera) as the theme to a wedding. I can't ever hear that song without thinking of that. Good ol' Anne Murray. Don't you love these arbitrary stream-of-consciousness posts? ::
