Carl
We are very thin on Songfacts for this one, so I put out the call: Can anyone explain what David Bowie's "Changes" is about?
Mike
Well this may not be much... I know that this was the time Bowie started feeling comfortable writing songs, especially life on mars and changes. Changes started out as a parody of a nightclub song, a kind of throwaway. But people kept chanting for it at concerts, Dave had no idea it was going to become such a great hit! Also, He once appeared with a circus elephant called "Changes" on stage. MuzikTyme
Carl, I believe Changes is as much of David Bowie as the word. My interpretation mirrors this fantastic article on what I consider one of the most innovative contributors to music of all time. I'm sure with this and Mike's entry, you'll be able to edit a suitable summation. David Bowie
