Vocal Groups Honored In New Jersey

Elvis Presley's backing group The Jordanaires, the Beatles, the O'Jays and The Ronettes were among the 17 vocal trios, quartets, duos and other harmony acts inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in New Jersey Wednesday.

Other acts honored in Wildwood included the Dells, the Stylistics, Alabama, the Doobie Brothers and the Tokens, who reformed for the first time in nearly 30 years to perform their hit The Lion Sleeps Tonight.

Also performing at the seventh annual induction ceremony, The Jordanaires, Ernest Tubb and Jim Reeves crooned Presley's ballad Can't Help Falling In Love, while the Ronettes' Nedra Talley Ross teamed up with the Sepremes' Mary Wilson and Florence LaRue for a rendition of Be My Baby.
