I just submitted songfacts on this, and as I read the lyrics it really touched me, invisibly, you might say. (ironic ain't it?) 20 some odd years ago I got caught in the downward spiral of cocaine addiction, albeit a short-lived one. A few months and several hundred dollars and I'm lucky I'm alive today and able to write this. I'll tell anyone, anywhere that sh*t is dangerous, and like a .38 special to your head, ain't good for nothin' but puttin' you in the ground! This was me, I felt exactly the way the lyrics described, like a monkey, irritable, anxious, seeking help, money to burn, trying to shae it loose, cut it free, make it right. Wow. To think how many times I listened to this song, and, just about around the time this was released, and I never knew what it was about. Does anyone know any more about this song. Or if Phil Collins or any other members of Genesis had a cocaine problem?
