Farin
Two cool ones were already mentioned: "Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb" (of course ) and "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" also how about "Plan 9 from Outer Space"? bazooka
... while it is not a pressing cinematic question, it is a fun one ...The trick with this parlor game is to separate one's adoration for a given picture from the relative aptness, poetic beauty or comic rightness of its title ... I don't consider any of these to be the "greatest", but, to get things rolling, here's a haphazard list of what I think are some effective movie titles: American Graffiti Analyze This Beach Blanket Bingo Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice Carnal Knowledge Close Encounters of the Third Kind D.O.A. Dude, Where's My Car? Dumb And Dumber The Endless Summer A Fish Called Wanda The Girl Can't Help It Gone Baby Gone Honey, I Shrunk the Kids House of Flying Daggers How the West Was Won I Bury The Living An Inconvenient Truth The Nightmare Before Christmas A Nightmare on Elm Street Rebel Without a Cause Revenge of the Nerds The Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming Take The Money and Run This Island Earth The Usual Suspects The Year of Living Dangerously Zardoz [smaller] Note: This is not my endorsement as to the cinematic merits of any of these motion pictures. They've just got 'catchy' titles.[/smaller]
