That song wouldn't qualify as a correct answer.

Although the song does have an acoustic guitar, it doesn't count as an "acoustic song" because of the electric guitars on the recording also.

It was this version that made it to #1 on the US Hot 100 chart in 1988, not the acoustic version that they also recorded.

The Guns N' Roses song "Patience" was recorded using all acoustic guitars and peaked at #4 on the US Hot 100 chart in 1989.
