Have you been told that "you need a bucket to carry a note/you're Tone Deaf" all your life? Do musicians tell you NOT to sing? Here's Fil to show and tell what/if you are "Tone Deaf." Press PLAY to find out if you're really an undiscovered Opera singer, like Mike Rowe, or as off-key as "Faye Valentine.";)

I've seen "discussions" about Woke break down into Hate Speech worthy of Joseph Goebbels at his worst. Presented for your cogitation, a definition and suggestion about Woke.
Press PLAY if you're still able to "walk a Mile/two Kilometers" in another's shoes...

This former TV network executive's posts have drawn me in from time to time, letting ordinary people know how things used to work in Hollywood's version of TV. This time, he takes a swing at YouTube, which shamelessly has both gems and garbage on full display. Press PLAY to find out about "doing business with YouTube" via videos.

Something old from "Techmoan," a revised look at a portable vinyl LP player. Included is news about the Audio Technica Sound Burger, as well. Press PLAY to find out if the new version of the Coturn CT-01 works this time...

Submitted for your approval, an in-depth appraisal of a lesser-known Cult SF movie of the 1980's. Get in the Wayback machine, we're going to a trailer park, where Alex Rogan wants to "get out in the world." A financial setback means he's bound for community college at best, so he plays a new video game. Press PLAY to see "a wider world" open up for Alex.

"Nazi Germany" and "Jazz" seem to be an unlikely combination, since Jazz was considered "Jungle Music" played by "African untermenschen." However, Astrid and Indy have a surprise for you! A Jazz band was formed to broadcast Pop music to undermine the morale of Allied/U.S. soldiers. Press PLAY to find out more about "weaponized degenerate music."

Just when I was about to meander along, HI Sessions springs this unexpected gem on me! Leave the door open, you'll never know what will stroll in and take you on a trip...
-
And now for Something You've Heard Before...But Didn't know About. I kept seeing "33 Songs You Didn't Know Were Covers" meandering around YouTube. I wondered how far this collector had gotten and was surprised that there's more than one volume. Press PLAY and "name the original artist" if you care...;)

Sometimes, when two musicians meet, and play music, Magic happens! Press PLAY for Something Completely Different...

I've been seeing a lot of interest in the latest "made from a game" TV show, "The Last of Us." I don't do Zombies/Infected/Vampires/Werewolves/Witches & Wizards but I may yet change my mind. (Is it half as good as "Train to Busan" (2016)? A fan of Horror thinks so.) Press PLAY while I continue to roam YouTube for "signs of intelligent life.";)

Are the "usual suspects" not as interesting to play? Take a look at 2023 free games for the soldier-of-fortune/RPG explorer. Press PLAY for something to do before the Woke "Grand Theft Auto" arrives and spoils everything.;)

I found this in my meanderings around YouTube, celebrating the "working my way through high school" student. Press PLAY if you haven't been to the supermarket in a while...
-
I was looking for a Song Image, bounced around "Did you know these 33 songs are covers?" Then found a "Poodle Hat" song set to Billy Joel's "Piano Man." Press PLAY if you want to travel back 15 years ago, when Spiderman was just starting to swing around Manhattan...;)

This just popped up from HI Sessions. Time for a little bit of Country in Hawaii.;)

Hey there, Sir Mix-a-lot Deejay, how about a Direct Drive CD Player for your next club/party gig? "Techmoan" takes a trip back to the early part of Y2K to do a mix or two on his "ultimate home CD player." Press PLAY to find out why this "direct drive LP player simulator" didn't catch on with Deejays back in the day.;)

I was watching the 2022 Japanese Romance/Drama TV series, "Silent" when I saw what I thought was a mirage: "Tower Records"!? To find out if it is/was a mirage, press PLAY to board the Wayback machine...

Millennials and Hipsters are (sometimes) astounded that they're looking at "old" (1974 is "old"!?) movies like "Blazing Saddles" and finding Cinema Gold. With Hollyweird spending mountains of cash on dumpster fires, it any wonder that people are "going TCM"? Here is the second oldest film I've ever seen, which has the "Georges Melies look." Press PLAY for bragging rights at a social gathering when a newbie talks about an "old movie," such as "2001: A Space Odyssey" (1968).;)
-
I recall seeing and hearing about "great deal all-in-one" music systems, but I preferred separates of known quality. (I did buy a Fisher AM/FM Cassette "boomlet," which sounded OK for casual me much later on.) "Techmoan" reveals a mistake from his youth and takes us on a tour of a sub-par "music system." Press PLAY to find out if anything still works...;)

Were you a "Pinball Wizard" in your little town? Do you crave the thrill of "flipping the silver ball" but don't have the room in your "8 mat dwelling" for such a huge beast? Fear not, "Techmoan" has found a way to scratch that itch. Press PLAY to find out how to be a "Bally Table King" once again in limited spaces.;)
-
I was looking and commenting on "Die Hard" (1988), then this discussion + video came up. I watched it and thought that this forum might find it interesting. Press PLAY to find out why a "did not have a full season" TV show of more than twenty years ago has something to say in trying times.

Is Science Fiction always a hard dramatic slog? Nope. Here's a short look at a town full of scientific geniuses and the (supposedly) normal Sheriff who rides herd on them. It's short look not because of a truncated season/studio cancellation, but what looks like a case of a YouTube reactor's burnout. That said, there's a new Sheriff in town, so let's go...

I was watching "The Target Audience" look at the first episode of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" out of curiosity. In the 1990's everyone was talking about this show, but "I don't do Vampires/Werewolves/Zombies" is my mantra for movies and TV. It looked interesting, but this 2011 show was my "dive into the deep end" TV show of choice. So, get a medieval skull cracker out of Aunt May's trailer, call up Monroe the Blutbad, it's time to hunt Wesen criminals!

Hello fans of Woody Allen's "What's Up, Tiger Lily?" (1966). Instead of the Heavy Adult Themes of Spike Spiegel and Jet Black, thrill to "Rick and Morty"-level dialogue. It looks like the producers of this "erase the original and schtick it up" production stopped a while ago. Oh well, press PLAY if you prefer grade school Anime...

Crusing YouTube, you can find anything you want, things you don't, and things that stop you in your tracks. Here is a deep dive into the characters/places/backstory of "Cowboy Bebop.." Are you ready to board the "Bebop"? Press PLAY for a well-drawn look at "Anime's gateway drug" from the last century. Do you "carry that weight"?

Where did "Cowboy Bebop" come from? Here's a video essay that may answer a ton of questions about Shinichiro Watanabe's "Anime Entry Show." Press PLAY if you want to know way too much about the world 2071. 3-2-1 Let's blow this town...
