  1. I've been a fan of Antonin Dvorak for years, and this pairing of composer to personality left me stunned. So, does your favorite Classical music composer align with your "spirit animal"? Only The Shadow knows, and he isn't telling! Press PLAY, if you dare...;) Why your favorite composer sucks!
  2. 'Ahlo, Monsieur Jacques Plateau, here is a major/minor sea creature survey of Planet 4546B. First, an exploration of the Safe Shallows, eventually winding up in the Lava Zone to confront the Sea Emperor. Then, long swims through the oceanic deep freeze of the Polar region of Planet 4546B, with ever more amazing life forms. Be sure that your life insurance is paid up, and your U.S. Divers neoprene suit is a custom fit. Yessir, it's ASMR for Marine ExoBiologists missing only the dulcet narrration of Dr. David Attenborough...
  3. It's not an album, though there were many performers recording the song. It's not Classic Rock, since it's a 1990's thing. Nevertheless, it spread across the world at the time. Take a "blip jump" in the Wayback Machine, it's time to celebrate in Spain now that Franco is dust. Heey Macarena!;)
  4. I was looking at a review of Genndy Tartakovsky's new animated series, "Primal" when this game was mentioned. Due to the (somewhat) unsatisfactory Season 5 conclusion, here's a chance for Samurai Jack and Ashi to defeat evil spirit "Aku" and "get a life." Got your Katana? It's demon-killing time!
  5. Do you remember radio station promotion spots when human disk jockeys still played records? "Techmoan" has gotten a set of NAB Radio Victory promo cartridges via the mail. It's the 1970's and deejay Kenny Everett was active in radio and audio production, while running afoul of staid BBC radio managers. So, how does this "wild and crazy guy" from "Techmoan's" misspent youth sound like? Press PLAY if you hanker for "WKRP in Cincinnati" radio vibes...
  6. I finally saw "The Bob's Burgers Movie" on YouTube. ("Hulu"? I'm signed on with CBS and Paramount Plus, already.) Here's a "Bob's Burgers" short that I saw on FXX a while back. Too bad this movie theater quality animated short doesn't begin or end the movie, but I guess the Wagstaff School Talent Show happens later in the school year. (It's near the end of school/beginning of Summer in the movie.) Is your butt feverish?;)
  7. Matt has need of a properly working 8 Track background music machine. It doesn't work very well, so "Techmoan" is off on a Clean, Lubricate, Adjust chore to bring this U.S. spec. player up to snuff. Will our intrepid Junk, er, classic electronics collector get this five 8 Track player to "do Phil Collins" or "Queen"? Press PLAY to see/hear this pilgrim's progress.;)
  8. "Dr. Brain," Part one. A video link to the "Series Recapped" site on YouTube. (No video, no embed, so here's a string for a "trip down the Rabbit Hole.") "Series Recapped" videos
  9. An instrumental version of Europe's 1986 song, "The Final Countdown." Just imagine you're visiting the "Game of Thrones" world and the house band drinks a bit too much Mead...;)
  10. It's game time again. This time, part of the Planet Express crew must escape "Mom Earth" or be killed by curfew-enforcing Hoverbots! Well Fry, can you find tools and other stuff needed to get "Old Bessie" shipshape?
  11. Fancy a Toy Robot from 1979? "Techmoan" has found TWO 8 Track tape player/Educational tape players made for children long ago. With a less-than-stellar Tanashin transport drive, will Matt get either of these working? Press PLAY to find out what his "posh 'Star Wars' Disco 8 track tape" by Meco sounds like.;)
  12. How different/similar does "Bob's Burgers" look to a Hindu? He's a but horrified at seeing ground beef being made, but his family owns a sweets shop, so he's lived "that life." He's also a fan of "Archer" and "King of the Hill" among other animated series. He's just starting "Futurama," just in case "Bob's Burgers" is too pedestrian. Press PLAY to see what he has to say about the Holi festival after "Full Bars.";)
  13. I clicked on a video for "Sarah" by Starship and was intrigued. I noticed that this Australian band does "happy/upbeat" music from a wide variety of artists and genres, from Al Green to Whitesnake to Dire Straits. Then I see their keyboard player set to do a vocal, and I'm even more interested. Can he carry off a song identified with female vocalists and Carole King, in particular? Press PLAY to find out. As with any good/great band, they've been on YouTube for years.;) "China Grove" (The Doobie Btos.) "True Colors" (Cyndi Lauper) "I'm So Excited" (The Pointer Sisters) "Sultans of Swing" (Dire Straits)
  14. Smart Phone apps can do everything, right? Here's the challenge: pre-1923 recordings are now in the public domain, so a YouTube copyright strike is unlikely. Can a music matching software app figure out what tune/song Foxtrot dancers were doing 100 years ago? Press PLAY to see if a "Smart Phone can do everything..."
  15. "Techmoan" has been hunting for Philips Background Music cartridges and came across one that wouldn't play. Taking it apart, mold has stuck layers of tape together, gumming up the works. Is there something on the tape worth salvaging? Press PLAY to find out what and how Matt made it "open reel ready." Can you name any of the ten mono tunes on this tape?;)
  16. Someone has returned from a long voyage across the waters. She brings a song from the faraway land of Kansas. Press PLAY to take a trip on the Wayback machine.;) The Perfidious Rising Sun House in Orleans!
  17. I'm not sure if I ever saw this pre-recorded music cassette, but since it does date from 1966, I figure it's sorta "Classic." Press PLAY to hear what you could have gotten with your Norelco 450 stereo cassette recorder.;)
  18. Did you last YouTube video using a few seconds of copyrighted music get "pulled to the curb" by the Tin Eared Music Robotic Police? Fear not, "VWestlife" has a workaround that YouTube can't stop. Press PLAY to hear what kind of soundalike music can replace a bar of "Heartbreak Hotel.";)
  19. I was wondering what kind of music/artist/genre fits this part of the Songfacts Forum. I decided to check out this pre-debut album of Jim and Ingrid Croce to hear what really was "behind the music." For a "$500 to quit the music biz" wedding present, it sure sounds like an interesting investment. Press PLAY to see if Jim and Ingrid Croce were "on the cusp of something big."
  20. It's been a while since the Norton Utilities would let me access Songfacts Forum, so here's our favorite multilingual gamer, Gab Smolders, at play. In the "Yomawari" series, you're a little girl, wandering around the town at night, navigating "strange places that go 'Bump!' in the night." Press PLAY if you dare!
  21. Another "condensed movie" from the "X Recapped" video maker. A relocated boy meets his Kindergarten classmate, goes to a nearby spring, and things go FUBAR for them. Press PLAY to view.
  22. Hey there, Skippy, it's been a while since I could access the Songfacts Forum without the Norton Utilities warning about "Suspect Site! Do Not Access! You Have Been Warned!" messages. So, to keep things light, "Techmoan" looks at a set of "can use AA cell for 30+ hours playing time" Sony Walkmans of the late 20th/early 21st century. What works for Matt? Press PLAY to find out. (Warning: 30+ minutes of video!;)
  23. Among the many subscriptions I have on YouTube, DUST is one of the most interesting/unusual/original channels around. I had forgotten about "Horizons" with numerous possible videos available, but this anthology is up to episode 6. I have some catching up to do, while all you have to do is press PLAY to experience strange new worlds. (No, that CBS series isn't up to the level of these tales.;)
  24. All right you "Natives defending the border," it's time to kick out the Illegal Aliens swarming into our territory! Yep, this is the "Homeland Security: Keeping out Illegal Aliens since 1620" edition. This game has been out for a while, and you're one of The People. How will you fare against other Indian tribes, White invaders, etc.? Is this anything like "Red Dead Redemption" for Aboriginals? Press PLAY and select your Spirit Animal...
  25. Wind it up and things go FUBAR. "Techmoan" had a problem with his Edison Cylinder Phonograph as his last video was nearly "in the can." A one-hundred-year-old metal bolt turned into "soft metal" and sheared off under double spring pressure. Matt dug out an unused screw extraction kit and "had at it." Did this hack work? Press PLAY to find out...
