  1. AAWWWWWW YEEEEAAAAAA You know I love it. I'll be posting my ten soon.
  2. I'm gonna say this up front: I don't hate Robin Thicke, and I think that (albeit it is over played), "Blurred Lines" is a pretty sweet song. That being said, that performance at the VMAs was nuts. It was stupid. Miley Cyrus is just going the way of Britney Spears and Lindsey Lohan. Soon we'll be hearing about her sex tape online and her multiple arrests for drug possession. And anyone who thinks her music and image is still made with kids in mind is deluding themselves.
  3. If you like Sigur Ros (and who doesn't?) go listen to Julianna Barwick's "Nepenthe", recorded with Alex Somers, a guy who frequently collaborates with Sigur Ros. It's gorgeous, and it's powerful. It's about as good as anything Sigur Ros has done.
  4. "Passenger Side" - Wilco (1995) "Hangin' Around" - Edgar Winter Group (1972) "I Can Talk" - Two Door Cinema Club (2010)

  6. We need one more team, who are we missing?
  7. 1. Broken Boy Soldier - The Raconteurs (2006) 2. Testify - Rage Against The Machine (1999) 3. Caroline, No - The Beach Boys (1966) 4. Me And My Uncle - Grateful Dead (1969) 5. Transmaniacon MC - Blue Oyster Cult (1972) 6. Rainy Days And Mondays - Carpenters (1971) 7. Too Much Ain't Enough - Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers (1978) 8. Tattoo - The Who (1967) 9. What It Is - Mark Knopfler (2000) 10. Shot In The Dark - Ozzy Osbourne (1986)
  8. I liked it. I thought it was probably just as good as "Born And Raised". Some of the songs sounded a little pedestrian and the Frank Ocean and Katy Perry collaborations sounded out of place, but generally, I liked it. Also, I just finished Earl Sweatshirt's new album. It's pretty good, better than Tyler, The Creator's album. It takes a couple listens, but it's pretty impressive.
  9. Most people have Martin as a top 5 pick. I mean, he is still young, but he showed some serious skill last year
  10. It's time for some football! League is all set up. Joining is a bit different this year, Yahoo changed things up. Click this link to join That's all you need to do. It'll automatically name your team based on your profile, you can change that from the "My Team" page. As for the scoring, click on "League", then click on "Scoring & Settings" to see how we're scoring. We are, as usual, a PPR league. There are a few other things, but nothing different from last year. I'm more than happy to discuss any scoring changes and if the league wishes to change something, we can do that. Sign up now! Let's do it!
  11. Those are three of my favorites. Disclosure's album was just alright for me. Like, I liked it, but I didn't flip over it. Honestly, I think Pet Shop Boys released a better dance album this year.
  12. Sorry about the delay, my computer broke the other day, I'm using my wife's right now. I'll make the league either today or tomorrow. As for a draft, personally I love doing live online drafts, but we've always done autodrafts because that seems to be what the community prefers, which is fine by me. I'll post in a new thread once the league is up
  13. "Testify" - Rage Against The Machine (1999) "Broken Boy Soldier" - The Raconteurs (2006) "Transmaniacon MC" - Blue Oyster Cult (1972)
  14. If you like Tame Impala, check out Pond's new album "Hobo Rocket". Pond's lead singer is former Tame Impala bassist Nick Allbrook.
  15. Awesome! That's a great looking ten. I've been trying forever to get The Avett Brothers in the archives. Thanks everyone!
  16. 1. Uprising - Muse (2009) 2. Black Skinhead - Kanye West (2013) 3. Stash - Phish (1991) 4. Ballad Of El Goodo, The - Big Star (1972) 5. Here It Goes Again - OK Go (2006) 6. That's All Right - Elvis Presley (1954)
  17. Glad you enjoyed it! I didn't know you ever interviewed Kelvin Swaby, that's pretty cool. I'm surprised The Heavy is getting so much love here. It's cool though.
  18. Awesome! I'm glad you enjoyed them. I kind of thought "Old Number Seven" would get some votes from the community, it's got a really cool, old-time blues feel to it.
  19. Rockin' The Suburbs - Ben Folds Track Listing: 1. Annie Waits 2. Zak And Sara 3. Still Fighting It 4. Gone 5. Fred Jones, Part 2 6. The Ascent Of Stan 7. Carrying Cathy 8. Not The Same 9. Rockin' The Suburbs 10. Fired 11. The Luckiest I discovered Ben Folds at a very difficult, transitional time in my life, and the album that I really latched onto was this one. It was the first Ben Folds album I listened to and it was the one I really connected with. Some of the songs are really goofy, songs like "Not The Same" which is about a guy who takes a bunch of LSD, climbs a tree and comes down the next day a born-again Christian (which is based on a true story). Those songs along with a few others are really good songs, fun songs, but the songs that really hit me are some of the slower ones. When I first heard "The Luckiest" I said to myself, "This is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard", and it ended up being the song I danced to for the first time as a married man with my wife at my wedding. It's become mine and my wife's "song". "Fred Jones Part 2" is a beautifully written, brutally honest story about an old man who gets laid off from a job he's put a lot of years into and gets no credit for it. It's beautiful, and the harmonies done by John McCrea (from Cake) really add depth to it. "Still Fighting It", a song written to Folds' son right after he was born all about how parents have no idea what they're doing and how tough it is growing up (something I could really relate to at the time). It's one of my favorite albums and I absolutely love it. Highlights: "The Luckiest", "Fred Jones, Part 2", "Still Fighting It", "Not The Same", "Zak And Sara".
  20. Reviving this thread real quick: Anyone else still interested in doing this? Could always use some more entries. I know there's a few more I need to put in, which I will do soon
