  1. WELCOME TO THE SONGFACTORS' CHOICE: Best Band Logos *ALL MEMBERS OF SONGFACTS ARE CORDIALLY INVITED TO PARTICIPATE * Please join us, and share your knowledge and your love of the things that keep SONGFACTS the community we all know and love. The basic guidelines are simple.... * The Songfactors' Music of Choice is decided by your nominations and votes. For each edition we'll ask that you nominate 1 OR 2 selections that meet the guidelines for that edition. * Each edition will about 3 weeks (or probably longer) . At the end of that time, we'll ask you to vote. You know how that works..... your lists will number 5 to 10, depending on subject, so we could change it up. We'll ask that you compile your list of choices from the final group of nominations. At the close of voting, we will have our Songfactors' Music of Choice. * Be as creative with this as you'd like. We want to encourage an exchange of thoughts, so this will be a place to learn about and enjoy the nominations, as well as the final choices. The guidelines may change with each edition. ..... Welcome To ..... THE SONGFACTORS' CHOICE: Best Band Logos Here's the general idea for this one: Just like corporations and NASCAR drivers, most bands have their own logos - some better than others. What makes band logos fun is that they're rarely professionally designed, so you can end up with a former band member (Aerosmith), someone's brother (Black Flag), or a lead singer who went to art school (Queen) providing the visuals. What we want is to decide which band logos you think are the best, whether it be for how artistic and creative they are or how iconic they are, or a combination of both. Everybody nominate your two favorite band logos and after nominations have closed, we will vote on the ten best in the same format as we would with the normal weekly top ten. I'll keep nominations open for awhile, there's no need to rush for this, especially considering that Thanksgiving here in the states is coming up. I'll keep them open for a couple weeks and if it seems like we've got everybody who's going to nominate, then we'll open up the voting. So have some fun. Let's get this thing started GIVE US YOUR NOMINATIONS NOW!
  2. I know Lemmy Kilmister has said that he hates "Ace Of Spades" but he always plays it because "If I went to a Little Richard concert, I'd expect to hear Long Tall Sally."

  6. Ludacris has also started acting. And Tupac acted in a couple movies. This opens an interesting question: Of all the rappers-turned-actors, whom do you think is the best actor? Or the top three best? For me it'd be this: 1. Will Smith 2. Mos Def (he was amazing on Dexter last year) 3. Ice-T (I love his character on SVU, though I don't think Ice-T necessarily has the best skills, he plays that character well.)
  7. You and me both buddy. Stupid Ben Roethlisberger had to go and get injured. This week was bad for me as I got a tie in this league and a loss in my other league. This is what happens when Aaron Rodgers is on a bye. Never leave me again Aaron.
  8. 45 here with rain and hail. Just absolutely beautiful.
  9. 1. Camera Talk - Local Natives (2010) 2. Hysteria - Muse (2003) 3. I'm Losing You - John Lennon (1980) 4. Nuvole E Lenzuola - Negramaro (2005) 5. I Wanna Be Somebody - W.A.S.P. (1984) 6. 11. Sounds good. And best band logo sounds good. I'll have to think on that one.
  12. I actually think it might be best to start with like 2011 or something, considering that, for all we know, an amazing album might be released in December or something. Maybe do a best of 2012 in January or February?
  13. Sounds good to me. I'm game for just about anything.
  14. Definitely. That's about what we sold if for where I work. It went on clearance and was brought down to like $175-ish. It didn't stay in its case for long.
  15. I almost bought that exact watch. Beautiful watch
  16. So hey guys. We haven't done one of these in somewhere around (and my math could be off) a billion years. I think we should do another one. I know that we're probably running out of ideas, so if anyone can think of something, that'd be awesome. I did have an idea though: I know that not everyone on this forum listens to new music, and that's fine, but if we had enough interest, I think we could honestly do a good job of a best of the year album thing each year. We could start soon (or whenever) with a best of 2010 and then a best of 2011 and then when the year is almost over, a best of 2012. If you don't remember what albums were released each year, you can check it out here at Best Ever Albums or you could probably check it out on Wikipedia. It seems to me that throughout the year people are always looking for the best of recent years, mostly because music is so readily available everywhere now that people want to discover new music. I think we could help people with that. I also think it could be good for site traffic (though I can't guarantee that, just a hunch). Most of all, I think it would be fun. Like I said, I realize not everyone here keeps up with new music, but between the people that do here, I think we could make a decent attempt at this. Now maybe I'm the only one who would be interested in this, and that's fine. If no one wants to do it, I don't have a problem with that. Also, if people are interested, but don't want to go with my idea, that's fine too. I'm happy to do whatever. So thoughts anyone?
  17. Actually it was "Rock Band 2" and it was also featured on "Guitar Hero: World Tour".
  18. Definitely enough for that one I posted. Now here's a nice little Audemars Piguet watch: 18k white gold, 35 CTTW of baguette diamonds (very good quality ones too). Guess how much this watch is. A couple thousand? Nope. 50k? Nope. 100k? Nope. This watch goes for roughly $1,000,000.
  19. My thoughts exactly. A cheap Movado, I could probably do that. Maybe one day. Those Tissots, maybe. An Oris? A Cartier? Or dare I dream, a Jaeger-LeCoultre? Haha nope. That'll never happen. $30,000 for that watch, and that's being hopeful.
  20. And also this one: Ronde Louis Cartier watch: Makes me wish I had the $10,000 to spend on it.
  21. And I don't know how I forgot this watch, but one of my first loves was a Movado and ohhhh what I would give to own one. So simple, yet so beautiful.
  22. HEY. Hey. You know how women love love love jewelry? Buying new jewelry to wear, how pretty it is to look at the jewelry, how awesome you feel wearing it? Well we men don't have a lot of choices when it comes to jewelry. Watches is one choice we do have and, some of us, love them. They all tell time. But they're all each beautiful pieces of artwork. Art that you wear on your arm and can look at all the time. That's what I love about watches.
