  1. I can understand that. The album strays a bit from that though, it's less about how awesome Jay-Z is, at least, not as much. The music is great at the very least. The only eye-roller is a song he does with Beyonce which is basically them saying to each other "You're awesome, no you're awesome, no you're awesome" but whatever. The rest is worth it.
  2. Jay-Z's new album "Magna Carta Holy Grail" is fantastic. Better than "The Blueprint 3" for sure. One of the best hip-hop albums of the year, right up there with Kanye's new album.

  6. I have a similar list. Way too many albums to listen too. Put Uncle Acid high on your list though, I think you'll like them. Check out this song. So worth it.
  7. If you like The Sword, go get Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats' album "Mind Control", because it's really good. Imagine Tame Impala's singing while The Sword is playing.
  8. My playlist is done whenever it's my turn. It's mostly modern music, none of which has made the archives. I think it's pretty good if I do say so myself
  9. If Karen O could shred on guitar, she'd be Marnie Stern and she would've put out Marnie Stern's new album "The Chronicles Of Marnia", which is a pretty cool album.
  10. Laura Marling's new album "Once I Was An Eagle" is very good. Sounds like a modern Joni Mitchell album.

  13. Another well-reviewed album that I didn't quite get: "Drifters/Love Is The Devil" by Dirty Beaches. Just seemed fairly boring to me.
  14. "Goodbye Kiss"- Grace Potter & The Nocturnals (2010) "Hey Man (Now You're Really Living)"- Eels (2005) "Resistance"- Muse (2009)
  15. Definitely. I enjoyed it a lot. Dawes is always so good and no one appreciates them.

  18. I'm in too. I loved doing the last one. Think I'll only do modern-era music this time through though.
  19. Thanks! I actually almost bought my wife the card that she got me but last second decided on something else.
  20. Absolutely! I've never met another Songfactor either. Once we get closer to the date, we'll coordinate.
  21. Chance The Rapper's "Acid Rap" is excellent. Second best rap album I've heard this year behind Kanye. Sounds a lot like Kendrick Lamar. Plus there's a collaboration with Childish Gambino, which is always great.
  22. Maybe a little. A beer at Merriweather costs just about your entire life savings.
  23. Mine and my wife's first anniversary was on Sunday and we had a great dinner. Best of all, we both pretty much got each other the same thing as a gift. I got her tickets to see Imagine Dragons in September and she got me tickets to see Bob Dylan, My Morning Jacket, Wilco, and Ryan Bingham in July. It's gonna be a great summer.
