Songfactor's Top 10 Television {Current Shows}
pinkstones replied to MindCrime's topic in Movies and TV
Can UK TV shows count as well? I ask because the majority of the shows I watch anymore come from across the pond. A couple of them are also aired here, but one of them isn't. -
Songfactor's Top 10 Television {Current Shows}
pinkstones replied to MindCrime's topic in Movies and TV
I don't watch much TV anymore either. I download episodes of TV shows I like after they air and watch them via my computer. Sometimes the episodes are available online for free and I watch them that way. Either way, I seldom have the TV on anymore except for background noise, and then I put on News14 Carolina or The Weather Channel. I'd say about 85-90% of programming on nowadays, both network and cable, is complete crap. -

The Songfactors' Choice: Best Songs Of 2012
pinkstones replied to RockyRaccoon's topic in Songfactor's Choice
I'm glad Kenne alerted me to this in the TT thread this week. Skyfall - Adele Drive By - Train The One That Got Away - Katy Perry -
There have been more than a few weeks where, if I wasn't able to vote for my own choices, I wouldn't be able to vote at all, because there weren't 10 songs I like enough to vote for. I'm not saying that'll be the case this week, because all the nominations haven't come in, but in the future....I want to be able to vote for my own choices.
-
I don't know about that. People are more likely to vote for older, more well-known songs vs. newer, lesser-known cuts, regardless if 10 people play or 100. That's why a Beatles song is almost a lock to make the TT and a song from Sigur Ros or Muse is not. I try to balance nominating older songs and newer songs because while I love the older stuff, I also want newer songs to get more representation. That's my $0.02 anyhow.
