If ya just let the good and bad cancel each other out, ya just have a "happening". And thats what it was, a happening the likes of which will never be duplicated..

Margo,
I see this a cold thread at this date, but I just happened by it and thought I might add my two cents worth anyway..
I was at Woodstock in 1969. And yes I do remember alot of it because I was only 12 yrs old at the time.
The town of Woodstock,NY. was not host to this concert. It happened on a farm near White Lake, NY. in the Catskill Mts, just outside the town of Bethel. I think the closest big town to that area is Montecello, NY.
Anyway here is a link to the official web site for anyone thats interested:

The song in question was never released on an album, until the Shine Box set. "Point me at the sky" was released as the A side of a 7" UK only single on/or about Dec 6th 1968. This was aprox 5 months after the release of the "saucer full of secrets" album. released- Jul 29th 1968.

Udo,
I agree. They should be done away with in America as no one seems to get the idea. Its seems Jon has some fond memories of "roundabouts" (if that was his true intention). Having learned to drive at age 10 (back then they didnt really watch that close) in S.E. New Jersey, I knew how the roundabouts (traffic circles) worked better than most locals. To this day they are still a big mess. I have been to Brittain, (Scotland in particular) and have drivin thousands of miles on the roads there over the years. Hitting a 4 lane roundabout at 70 mph was commin place. you just best know where you are going or you end up like Chevy Chase in the movie "Vacation" "look kids, Parliment, Big Ben, Parliment, Big Ben ect.
