  1. Earth-Angel...particularly looking for female rap(ish) songs. I just heard Ashlee Simpsons new one "L.O.V.E" and the verses are good in terms of the way they're sung fast. I guess that's sort of what I'm looking for. Something like Lucious Jackson's "Ladyfingers". Oh, don't feel bad Blind-Fitter...I actually like "Wannabe" by the Spice Girls. Used to be sort of a fan when I was little. They had a few good songs.
  2. Hey Daizelle, Checked out a few of them... Definitely liked DMX - "Party Up (Up In Here)". Terror Squad - "Take Me Home" was ok. and...LL Cool J's "Hush". Thanks for those!
  3. Hello PsychoCatholic and Earth-Angel! Here's a link to download and hear the song if you're interested. http://s11.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1C8M974DJEDH02IJP4GZ9FOAUN
  4. [Laughs] Sounds like a goody RonJonSurfer.
  5. Can you guys recommend any songs similar in tune and/or melody to Faith Hill's "There Will Come A Day"?
  6. Oh yeah...Heartbreak Hotel is a good one!
  7. Thanks for the suggestions! If you've got more, please feel free to continue suggesting! To Bluesboy: Definitely love Frank Sinatra's "One For My Baby".
  8. Great stuff. Got more suggestions? Also, Happy late Thanksgiving to you all!
  9. Also, Firestorm... LetsSingIt.com has a section where you can type in lyrics and search.
  10. Hello Again... I was in the store Forever21 today and they were playing a mix of Christmas songs...a mixture of Pop/Rock and I think even sort of HipHop. In fact, there was some version of "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" by an artist I assume to be hip hop...it had a really good beat. Anyway...I'm looking for suggestions for some good Christmas songs along those lines. Here's what I've got so far: "Santa Can You Hear Me?" - Britney Spears "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree" - Jessica Simpson "All I Want For Christmas Is You" - Mariah Carey I'm looking for the upbeat Christmas songs like these.
  11. Thanks Guys! Good choices...any other suggestions?
  12. Hiya... Can you guys suggest any songs that are similar to Mariah Carey's "Vision Of Love", Celine Dion's "I Love You", and Vince Vance & The Valients "All I Want For Christmas Is You" I would call these bluesy type ballads, I guess. Anyway, that's what I'm looking for - any suggestions? - Jessica
  13. Hiya Daizelle, I'm looking for Hip Hop songs.
  14. Thanks for the help! I appreciate it! I think I've just about got the gist of what a hook is. You guys are the best! Much Love, Jessica
  15. Thank you for the suggestions so far! I appreciate it and look forward to seeing more of your suggestions!
  16. Hi! Maybe you guys can help me with this. Recently I've heard the term "hook" or "hook line" in a discussion of music. First of all, what is it? Second, can someone please give an example of a hook or hook line in a song? Thank You, Jessica
  17. Can you guys suggest some popular (doesn't matter when they came out) rap type songs sung by female artists. I guess I'm thinking something along the lines of Pink and her song "There You Go". Any suggestions? Much Love, Jessica
  18. That's kind of a cool asignment. I would probably suggest the very wacky "Me and My Monkey" by Robbie Williams. However a fair warning there's a few bits of language here and there.
  19. Yep, I've got another one for ya. Ok, I heard this song in K-Mart the other day..I had the a few of the lyrics memorized, but they've fallen right out of my head! So...I just have bits and pieces and a general idea of what the song is about. Here goes... It was a female singer, possibly country... I think the lyrics were something like "love and romance that's what I need" It was an upbeat song... And I'm pretty sure it was basically about finding the right guy and possibly about the qualities he'd have to posess. Any help, of course is appreciated. Much Love, Jessica
  20. Hiya Earth-Angel! I'm pretty sure this is what you're looking for: Queensryche - "Hit The Black" Lyrics: Hanging by a thread, problems in my head, don't know what I said, living to be dead on the run. Corporation greed, television need, overdose and bleed, pornograph obscene, I'm a liar. There's no brakes on me, as I'm running down the track. They'll be waiting for me, but I'm never coming back. I'm going down... to a place where I can see all there is to see in me. Bullets in the gun, gonna have some fun, think I'll take a ride to the other side, till I'm done. Hole is in the vein, feel it numb the brain, take away the pain, never be the same till I die. There's no brakes on me, as I come around the track. There's no gauge to read, peg the needle as I hit the black. I'm going down... to a place where I can see all there is to see in me. Population freeze, modern day disease, brings us to our knees, see them stand in line for a cure. Profit in the wind, pushing back the time that we wait in line, pushing back the time, it's a sin. There's no brakes on me, as I'm running down the track. They'll be waiting for me, but I'm never coming back. I'm going down....
  21. Hello Again All, Please forgive the constant name changing. I don't know why it keeps happening, but anyway... So, what I'm looking for now is songs that are played in sad parts of movies. For example: In 'A Walk To Remember' after Landon finds out Jaimie has cancer he's driving and they play a song called "You" by Switchfoot. A very kind of low toned type of song. Very nice. So, that's what I'm looking for and I look forward to your suggestions! Much Love, Jessica (NightOwl and Yoda)
  22. Well thanks for giving them a listen, Earth Angel! I appreciate it! Anyone else find them familiar? Much Love, Jess
  23. "Save Tonight" by Eagle-eye Cherry Much Love, Jessica
  24. Hi Folks! Me again. There's two songs that have a piano tune in them that sound very familiar. If you know of what song it is or if it's in any other songs or whatever, please let me know. First song: Celine Dion - "I Don't Know" If you listen closely you can hear the tune in between the drum beats and guitar. Right in between the lyrics "The winds of the heart [the tune] can blow me down..." What tune is that? Second song: Robbie Williams - "Berliner Star" This one is a bit easier. It's the piano tune right at the begining of the song before he starts singing. And there's a third that also sounds familiar. I'm almost positive that it's been played in other songs. Third song is: Robbie Williams - "By All Means Necessary" It's that violin tune you hear at the begining as the beat picks up, before he starts singing. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.
