  1. This is one of my favorite Lynyrd Skynyrd songs and I can't figure out why they didn't release it when it was originally recorded.
  2. They have a great section about classic rock. Although I'm sure I would prefer 10 different albums, someone that hasn't heard very much classic rock music would have a great time listening to these 10 albums.
  3. Oh my God Rachel... the term "genius" should never be associated with anyone in a boy band. It's like an oxymoron. And David Hasselhoff? Good Lord, he couldn't fathom a musical career if he did it for free as a comedy act on public television with monkeys playing the intstruments. I'm going to go cleanse myself now by listening to N'Sync...
  4. Here's one about Stevie Ray Vaughan Lack of technique? Wow, that's not something I would associate Stevie Ray Vaughan with. Lack of technique? I'd like to know who they think is a better guitar player... maybe they're big fans of that guy in Blink 182... Pink Floyd's "Animals" Obviously they don't really know anything about Pink Floyd. This is on a review for The Beatles "1". What does that have to do with the album? That's not right... that's just not right... The Who's "Tommy" I'm guessing it was written by Bugs Bunny.
  5. If I travelled back in time, I would make sure to hoard lots of shares of stock in Apple!! Whoa, money train here I come.
  6. This is great... Trying to take over the throne held by John Mayer? I like John Mayer, but since when did Bob Dylan have to take over a throne from John Mayer? Does this person even realize that Bob Dylan has been making music for more than 40 years? Before John Mayer was even born? It's more like John Mayer is trying to take the throne away from Bob Dylan. I'd like to smack this person. This is fun....!
  7. Let's bring this back to the front where it belongs since our wonderful Administrators fixed our little calendar problem.
  8. The date thing appears to be resolved. Now, the question remains, how do we get our posts back to normal?
  9. Does that say Britney Spears has better guitar riffs? Dear God, since when has Britney been associated with guitar riffs? Since when has Britney done anything except dance on stage looking like a whore and lip syncing? BRITNEY SPEARS IS REAL MUSIC? So does that mean all the untalented popstars who never sing live and are just for show are portraying real music? As opposed to actual musicians playing instruments and not worrying about image? Can I reach out and smack the living piss out of this person?
  10. Whoa, that's cool. Sometimes, great posters post alike!
  11. That's what I was really referring to. Can you imagine what a guitar would look like if you were tripping on acid? It would probably grow feet and eyes and a mouth and start playing itself while eating your arm and walking around on stage. Interesting...
  12. Good to see ya Scott. How're the Dakotas right now? Drugs do not act like osmosis. You can't soak them through your skin.
  13. So I was listening to this song yesterday in the car and was actually able to picture Bojangles dancing in my head since I had an actual picture to look at (thanks to Uncle Joe). It was very odd, the whole song took on a new meaning this time when I listened to it.
  14. The song was written by Jerry Jeff Walker, a country artist who started out in the late 60's. I'm not sure who actually recorded it first though.
  15. The song is so great country, I can't picture Bob Dylan doing a cover and definitely cannot picture Neil Diamond doing a cover.
  16. That is a great song as well. I love songs that tell a story about someone that doesn't live the greatest life, but seems very content with what they have. Stories that can be sad and happy and inspiring at the same time. But the character always seems to die in the end of the song...
  17. I think I would do a reality show with Sammy where 100 beautiful women fight over who gets to sleep with us that night. There will be many tough decisions, but that's why there's two of us to sort through them all (separate ends of the mansion of course). Now that would be reality TV!
  18. I did not know that. Gives the song much more meaning when you know a fact like that. It also makes more sense. Thanks Joe!
  19. The song is actually kind of a sad one. To me, the character in the song seems to have lost many things in life and all he has left is the dancing he does for others around the area. He's obviously an alcoholic and seems to have very little to speak of. Kind of like a hopeless hobo out on the road.
  20. Okay, here's this weeks set of lyrics. "Mr. Bojangles" - Nitty Gritty Dirt Band I knew a man Bojangles and he danced for you In worn out shoes With silver hair, a ragged shirt and baggy pants The old soft shoe He jumped so high, he jumped so high, Then he lightly touched down I met him in a cell in New Orleans, I was Down and out He looked at me to be the eyes of age As the smoke ran out He talked of life, he talked of life Laughed, clicked his heels and stepped He said his name, Bojangles, and he danced a lick Across the cell He grabbed his pants a better stance, oh, he jumped so high, Then he clicked his heels He let go a laugh, he let go a laugh, Shook back his clothes all around Mr. Bojangles Mr. Bojangles Mr. Bojangles Dance He danced for throws at minstrel shows and county fairs Throughout the south He spoke of tears and fifteen years how his dog and him Traveled about The dog up and died, he up and died After twenty years he still grieves He said I dance now at every chance in honky tonks For drinks and tips But most of the time I spend behind these county bars 'Cause I drinks a bit He shook his head and as he shook his head I heard someone ask him `Please' Please .......... Mr. Bojangles Mr. Bojangles Mr. Bojangles Dance! Mr. Bojangles Mr. Bojangles Mr. Bojangles Dance Okay, so a lot of people know this song, but I really enjoy its down-home country feel.
  21. Yes they do Unky Joe. They also did "If You Wanna Get To Heaven". I need to come up with another set of lyrics. I picked up their Best Of album and I love it. It's got 21 songs ranging from blues Southern Rock to country Southern Rock to Honky Tonk Southern Rock. Quite a diverse sounding band.
  22. Okay cool my snizzle. I was really just curious as I have managed to lose track of all the songfacts I submitted.
