I really wanted to see Yes, but I saw their schedule and they were nowhere near where I live. They are one of my favorite bands.

Curses. What am I missing about Dark Side that everyone else loves. It could just be I have been listening to The Wall a lot lately. The way things always go with me and PF albums are, the more I listen to them, the more I like them. So I guess if I listen to DSoTM more, I would like it better than The Wall.

You know, I would have to add Heart of The Sunrise by Yes to my collection of favorite songs there. It's a good'un.

I see a guitar playing smiley, and a drum playing smiley, but no keyboard playing smiley. What gives?! No bass smiley either, but bass isn't that important. Just Kidding.

Who would want to remember the seventies? Just kidding. Wish I could've been there. I sort of skimmed through this post fast, so I apologize if someone already said this, but pet rocks would be a cool things to have at the partay.

Great idea, Muzik, I couldn't agree more. I'm with ants suggestion.

Alright cool, because I don't want to learn it in the wrong key. I accidentally did that with The Trial, and it's a bit of a bother relearning everything.

What the heck is the instrument that plays during "Outside The Wall"? Is it like a bagpipe? I think it plays at the very beggining of the album too.

Where did you get the photos from?

Woo. I have always been a Buffet fan. I guess I don't know that much of his stuff, but I guess all of his popular songs. Cool to hear he made number one. Ironically I haven't heard this "License to chill" album. I guess I will have to go out and buy it.

Comfortably Numb- Pink Floyd
Is There Anybody Out There?- PF
In The Flesh- PF
Shine on- PF
Funeral for a Friend- Elton John
Fire On High- ELO
Bohemian Rhapsody-Queen
Focus II-Focus
I can't really choose between those.

A lot of times just straying from what is normal can make you popular. Look at Yes. Of course I guess the later, much more normal Yes was more popular. So I guess you have to be innovative, and then bubble gum to get popular. Or having no talent at all would work. Just look at rap.

David Gilmour, The singer for Yes (I don't know his name), Jimmy Page (he isn't really that great of a singer, but I like his voice), Freddie Mercury. Call me crazy, but I would have to say Roger Waters. He sings with such a precarious and disturbed sound (When he isn't doing that novelty voice like in Nobody Home).

In Margaritaville by Jimmy Buffet, I thought for the longest time "Searchin for my lost shaker o' salt" was "searchin for my lost shaker assault"
-
Well I guess it depends if you like that kind of stuff. See, I didn't like any of the songs on MoP, but that's not really my style. If you liked a couple, you might like them all.

I know Gerald Scarfe helped design the sleeve along with Roger Waters. But I am looking at the a re-released copy here, so I'm not exactly sure which came first, the drawings on the sleeve, or the animations. I would be led to believe that Roger Waters came up with the animations, but I would probably be wrong. Also, I thought Bob Ezrin did all the orchestral stuff.

One time when I was little and only really listened to oldies because that was all I ever heard and was used to, i was in the car with my dad at a stoplight, and I he had the radio turned on full blast, blaring Funeral For A Friend. At the time I thought the song was dumb, and of course he had the windows rolled down, and someone from school pulled up next to us. I was prety embarrased. Now I'm the one who listens to it at full volume with the windows down.

I don't know if this is just my boom box doing this, or Pink Floyd recorded it this way, but I noticed while trying to learn In The Flesh on organ, that it is tuned not on a regular note. The chord it occured to me on was the one towards the beggining where the guitar does some blues riff thing. I would play and E minor and bend the pitch up a quarter step and it would sound correct, or an F minor and bend it down a quarter step. I'm not sure which is the correct chord, because it is halfway between E and F. If anyone understood all of that rambling, could you help me out and tell me which key it is in? Thanks.

I would have to say a pretty lame solo is in Secret Agent Man. He just plays the melody.

How have you guys failed to mention Stevie Nicks? Her voice is the most annoying thing next to all that punk crap. I don't know what the band or song is called, but there is that part where the guy goes "I'd do anything" and he does it in that whiny strained voice. It makes me nautious it is so annoying.

I heard Master of Puppets by Metallica. I don't know what kind of music you are into, but I think it sucked. If I were you I would get something else. Dark Side of The Moon is good if you don't already have it, so is The Wall, both by Pink Floyd. If you are into ELO Face The Music is a good album to get. I got essential ELO and it blows. Zeppelin 4 is another gem. Hope I've helped.

Probably the best analysis of The Wall I've heard so far. Check it out: Comfortably Numb

I suppose the Wall isn't really the best, but it's definately my favorite. Wish You Were Here is probably second, tied with DSoTM. Don't get me wrong, Animals is a great album, but I wouldn't say it is the best.

The Wall. Without a shred of doubt. Best album ever.

Not a fan. The music is not really my style, and to me they don't sound like they have a lot of talent. But hey, that's just me, I'm one of those crazy guys that likes talented musicians.
