Farin
STOCKHOLM (AFP) - Star of Swedish mega-group ABBA and music impresario Bjoern Ulvaeus has been accused of cheating on his taxes to the tune of more than 10 million dollars, Swedish daily Dagens Nyheter reported. Ulvaeus allegedly avoided paying 87 million Swedish kronor (11.7 million dollars, 9.4 million euros) of tax on earnings from his music sales between 1999 and 2003 by investing in a pension scheme operated from the Isle of Man, the paper wrote. Together with late payment charges and interest, the star faces a bill of 86.9 million kronor. "We are in discussion with (the tax authority) about 1999 to 2003 where we have a difference of opinion," Sven Rygard, Ulvaeus' lawyer told the paper. The former ABBA star's declared income in 2004 was 2,617,000 kronor.
