VH1 Big In '05 Nominees Announced

There was a lot of buzzworthy moments that had everyone talking this year. For example, Rapper Kanye West's infamous words for the President, Jude Law changing more than diapers with the nanny or Kate Moss's cocaine shame with her rocker boyfriend.

Honoring of all of these events is the fourth annual VH1 Big In '05 Awards. Premiering on Sunday, December 4 on VH1, the show will honor winners in categories that captured the year in music, news, politics, arts and gossip. This year's host will be actor and comedian D.L. Hughley.

The category of "Big Music Artist" features nominees Mariah Carey, Green Day and Kelly Clarkson. The "Big Download" category honors the most popular digital tunes of the year, with Gwen Stefani's "Hollaback Girl," The Killers' "Mr. Brightside," Green Day's "Boulevard of Broken Dreams," The Black Eyed Peas' "Don't Phunk With My Heart" and Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" all in the running.

Stefani is also for the "Big Stylin'" award, along with Jessica Simpson and Mr. Britney Spears himself, Kevin Federline. Tommy Lee and Bo Bice are both nominees for the "Big Reality Star" of the year. Journey is nominated once again, for "Big Old School Triumph," going up against INXS and The Fugees. And Kanye's aforementioned line about George W. Bush is among the nominees for "Big Quote."

Viewers can begin voting for each category online from October 26 to November 16 at VH1's Web site.

Performers, presenters and special guests will be announced as they are confirmed.
