Addictedtoclassic
I think a better question is "why is Queen being nominated for a best song of 2005"?
invisible_r
apparently its the best song from all the brits http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/soldonsong/whatson/britshomepage.shtml
Addictedtoclassic
Whoa, look at the list of songs that didn't make it.
invisible_r
i will forgive robbie, but will young?? you probably dont even know who he is, he is an idiot who did not will pop idol when he covered light my fire (very very badly)
Addictedtoclassic
I've never heard of Will Young. I don't like pop music, so I pretty much never listen to it.
invisible_r
its worse that pop music, its reality tv pop music! ive always thought of starting a will young hate club, everytime i see him i want to kill him!
Addictedtoclassic
Reality TV Pop Music? What the heck is that? Is that like American Idol or something?
invisible_r
yeah, pop idol, its exactly the same but here in england. he didnt even win, just covered "light my fire" just to piss me off
Addictedtoclassic
OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHH, now I'm following you. And he was nominated for best song? That's not right. That's like half the morons on that show that can sing but can't do anything else, like write a song, or perform a show, or play an instrument. Manufactured Corporate Singers, that's what they are. invisible_r
apparently so, and i bet either him or robbie will win, thats the tragedy...
Addictedtoclassic
That's just not right. Especially since some of the ones on the "didn't make it" list are much better songs then what either of them could have come up with.
invisible_r
Welcome to reality, unfortunately, thats what its like. i remember a few monthds ago there was a show on tv called "UK music hall of fame" where they voted one person in from each decade. from the 90s, the contenders were oasis, blur, radiohead, prodigy, the spice girls and robbie williams. make a wild guess as to who won... Addictedtoclassic
The Spice Girls? But, but they were soooooooooo good...
invisible_r
actually no, not that bad, it was robbie williams hey, i think this is our private chatroom!
Addictedtoclassic
Kind of looks that way, or maybe everyone else is just too good to enter our conversation. So here's a question concerning Pop Idol. Are they still running it? American Idol is in its 4th season and I can't sit and scream long enough for it to just end. You'd think they would have insulted everyone in the US that thinks they're a good singer. But apparently not...
invisible_r
its not on at the moment, they had another one called "the X factor", with simon cowell again, i never watched it though so im not sure what it is although i never watched pop idol, apart from when my ex-flatmate wanted to watch it (argh, she made me watch alot of crap!) i think it was funny how he was so mean to everyone.serves them right for trying to be famous via reality tv! Addictedtoclassic
I wish that show would just die. It's not like we need anymore manufactured pop stars anyway.
invisible_r
yeah, i wish all reality tv would die, it makes stupid people famous for being famous
Addictedtoclassic
And sometimes it makes stupid people famous for being stupid and lazy and incapable of handling life on their own. Now that's what I really want to see on TV... That's why I don't watch much TV. 50% is crappy reality TV, 25% is news that only shows bad news, and the other 25% is debatable of whether it's actually good or not. invisible_r
yeah, well i think im becoming stupider by the day because i will watch anything (although reality tv shows i try and avoid just to avoid the nausea)

Doesn't anyone like Kate Bush? I think most of her songs are fantastic, especially the album "The Whole Story". Queen are obviously excellent. invisible_r
i do quite like that kate bush song to be honest. my point basically was about how random it seems that will young is in that list...
