Chalk Dust Playground

My 16th song (I wrote this days ago, I almost forgot to post it, so sorry!), progressive rock tune. Wrote this while thinking of my childhood up to my current point as a senior in high school.

"Chalk Dust Playground"

Endless games by a woody hollow,

where the waterway meets the sea.

Sheltered naps underneath the willow,

a mystic childhood memory.

The box of sand; an endless desert land,

caravans in the moonlight.

Jolly kings; crystalline springs,

castles in all their might.

From the high chair to the throne,

all you see is all that you own.

Come to the chalk dust playground,

come and stay the entire day.

Visit me at the chalk dust playground,

until the rain washes it away.

Clouds rule the sky; seasons pass on by,

the playground slowly fades.

Memories and dreams; forever they stay,

after the playground is given up-

to yesterday.

From the high chair to the throne,

all you see is all that you own.

Come to the chalk dust playground,

come and stay the entire day.

Visit me at the chalk dust playground,

until the rain washes it away.
