ledjam9 Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 I thought I would bring up this discussion after I saw the trailer for Michael Moore's Capitalism: A Love Story. I shouted "No!" at my computer screen when I heard M.I.A.'s "Paper Planes" play over top the trailer. It didn't fit at all into what I thought the movie was going to be about. I guess maybe to appeal to the younger generation? I don't particularly like the song and it's been overused in movies and trailers from what I've seen lately. Any opinions in songs you've heard in trailers lately?
MindCrime Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 Anymore they don't fit the movie, because the film is awful and features a good song, or vice versa. Songs used in movies should be released directly to the soundtrack at first, not later after the song has already recently been on the chart and fallen off in the past couple months.
Shawna Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 I hate it when I hear a song in a trailer and then it's nowhere in the movie.
MindCrime Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 ... or they make a video out of it and feature clips from the movie and then it's not even in the movie.
