Carl
Saw this one at one of our big Connecticut casinos on Saturday. Casino shows used to be kind of sterile and tended to be short (giving the audience more time to feed the slots), but I think these days the shows tend to be very good. The Killers definitely weren't in a hurry, and the show was a blast. The set was a very modest variation of U2, with lots of lights, a giant video screen, and the occasional confetti cannon. The Killers have the kind of songs that make me want to move to the desert and discover peyote, soaking in all that life has to offer and relishing every sensation. In concert, the songs lost their sheen but picked up an energy as it became a shared communal experience. This is something Springsteen does very well - creates a sense that we're all in this together, and should really make the most of it.
