R_Soul 0
My all-time favourite songs that never made the charts (or barely scaped the charts) are: "White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane. [Never a hit in the UK, although a US No. 1] "A Salty Dog" by Procol Harum [No. 44] "I Had Too Much To Dream Last Night" by The Electric Prunes [49] "Get Me To The World On Time" by The Electric Prunes [42] "Drink The Elixir" by Salad [66] "Try A Little Tenderness" by Otis Redding [46] "Temporary Secretary" - Paul McCartney [didn't chart at all; the best thing he did post-Beatles!] The are zillions of others, of course. But they're my faves
XXX 4
wonderful tonight by eric clapton didnt even make the top 30 Thankfully. It's played at every wedding enough times There's a lot of songs that didn't quite cut it for radio or the charts. I usually chalk it up to not enough money to market it and bad taste of the public in general "Strange And Beautiful (I'll Put A Spell On You)" by Aqualung came out a couple of years ago, yet it never got airplay in the US. It's probably one the sweetest, most sublime love songs to come out in years - and nobody's heard it here.
